This poem won a Reflections contest last year at school. The theme was "A Different kind of Hero." Let me know what you think. - S.A.
Hate shall consume you, emotions will spark.
Conscience is lost without truth in the dark.
Tears can be greedy, have cruelness beyond.
Secrets revealing this heart stabbing song.
Love can be painful, the thoughts die away.
Hearts can be broken, the tears never fade.
Delicate minds soon create a large hole.
With beings of hatred consuming your soul.
Will I keep dying, will I ever wake?
Is there a point in the breaths that I take?
My minds suffocating, the thoughts in my head.
Will they come find me and pronounce me dead?
All of those years of relieving this stress.
Hatred is winning! It's fighting it's best.
All of those thoughts, they're rolling downhill.
It's presence has power, It's yearning to kill!
So don't just retreat, you have to fight too.
Your power's not weary, there's still faith in you!
Your existence has purpose, you must follow the plan.
So you can restore the salvation of man!
