Geeeze, you guys.
I may have gotten in over my head.

Tomorrow I'm going to this tennis thing here to be a sort of journalist.
I have no journalism experience <<';
I'm a creative writer, which is like completely the opposite.

The lady said there wasn't going to be a lot of writing, but what I'll basically be doing is informing the media (newspapers, news stations, etc) of what happens :/
I'm not too sure of the responsibilities.

Here's what made me say, "SURE!"
I get $500 for a weeks worth of work.

Maybe over my head?
Anyone have any tips? Journalism wise.

I can fill you guys in more tomorrow on what I'll actually being doing @.@

Night everyone!~

Use neutral, objective language. State facts and try to describe the situation accurately with suitable adjectives. Yeah. mrgreen

I'm no journalist, but I would imagine it's important to keep personal bias or suggestive language to a minimum in the writing ;] Think of it as a summary of what happened? Haha. :'D

Hmm... well you do like to go straight to the point in your writing yes?
Seems like you shouldn't have too much trouble. Perhaps you should look some pieces done by journalists reporting on a tennis event. Give you an idea of what about to write.

I'd say you just watch what goes on, note down points of interest, and the final score and all that...
I'm not sure myself. I haven't done Journalism either.

Like Mei said, always use neutral and objective language. I think in this situation, that is best. There are many news article topics where the journalist can be subjective and more persuasive but unless stated otherwise, I think all that needs to be done is commenting on the plays.

Not really a journalist myself, but I write a quite a bit for my school newspaper for extra-curricular. c:

Awesome news guys~

I wont actually be doing any kind of journalism.

What my title is is a Media Aide.

I'll contact the newspapers and such with the scores, stories on the players of the tennis tournament and what not.
If a news crew wants to do an interview, I have to scurry around and find a winner to give an interview.

xD There's no journalism involved THANK GOD, but I will have to use my creative writing skills more.

It shouldn't be too hard, the woman said, but I tend to make things hard <<';

What do you guys think?

Haha, I hope so!

Sounds like they're not so...organized.
I was supposed to meet with some guy today and he didn't get there, but I"m supposed to meet up with him tomorrow.

In the mean time he told me to like, talk to people and write stuff like "If you weren't there what you would want to know".

He also wants me to write stories about people that seem interesting.

Haha... well that certainly is interesting...
Though that lack of organization will probably make it a lil more difficult than it needs to be.

I am SOOO tired. Ugh.
Today I watched people who paid to play with the pros in doubles.

I was out there from 2-7.
I also had to go to a dinner thing.

I managed to interview two people, but I couldn't get a pro player to talk to.
I had to do something and when I got back, he had bailed.
When they asked if I did, I said no and they looked at me like I was stupid.

:/
I'm not a very out going person so its very VERY difficult.

Hmmm sounds a bit more difficult than I imagined then.
Guess you'll have to try and be more forceful...

Eh, I just ended up quitting.

I figured that I didn't need the extra stress and everyone said I should just quit anyway.
