If someone told us,
when we were young.
That life isn't easy,
Nor is it fun.

We would have sat there,
and ignored their words.
They would have nodded,
and said the day will come.

Now that I sit here,
and write this down.
I tell you all,
About this life I have found.

The days pass,
I do swear.
Trouble will come,
So please beware.

If you find yourself,
crawled up in fear.
You'll want to run,
And shed those tears.

So sit back,
And let me speak.
Why everything,
Is so dark and bleak.

There is a light,
In this dead cold.
And once we find it,
We'll be dead and old.

But there is relief,
Before that comes.
There is love,
When you believe.

If we told someone,
when they are young.
That life is hard,
They say we were old.
