More like a phone relationship?

I have been dating this guy for about...2 months, the 17 will be 3 months.
He constantly calls me every hour every day, i don't think its annoying
but when we go to school he never really talks to me as much as we
do over the phone. I want to have a long nice conversation in person with him
but when i talk about something it doesn't seem like hes all that intrested
in what i have to say sometimes, it only seems like hes intrested when i
make fun of someone saying stupid remarks about people then he laughs and giggels, but im not into makeing fun of people so when i try and talk about something that I want to talk about he kinda just. . .ignors what i have to say and changes topic about....how a stupid stripper fell at a wedding.
But when we talk over the phone it seems like he wants to be the first
person to hear what i have to say, i don't understand it.
How would i be able to start a conversation with him exactly?

Well i asked him why does he act so shy around me
when we talk in person but over the phone its a whole diffrent story.
He keeps telling me that ''Oh, fine. I'll be ssoo talkative tommaro then''
And yadda yadda yadda he usually says stuff like that.
