Jevan R. H. Divinitive Baulfret3 Have to agree completely, i went away for a while from yugioh and when i return to play, these synchro monsters just where annoying. Now i have come to like them but also realized they are too expensive (to me), at least the really good ones such as Brionac or stardust. Synchros have received a lot of backup cards and rituals were simply forgotten for a long time, they just tried to give some balance i guess. But i think rituals well played with the new "Absolute Powerforce" set, can manage to face a synchro deck, i have played with my rituals deck and altough it is still not perfect, when you manage to summon a ritual in the early phases of the game (thank you manju<3) synchros are completely shut thanks to releaser djinn. I have done it and youcould argue the speed of my opponnent but it´s possible. I guess we will just have to wait for konami and see. Stardust Dragon is a tin card so it's one of the cheapest Synchro's. Believe me, i am a poor duelist, humble but poor man. And brionac is still one of the best but expensive cards. Still ,i think synchros have received a lot of back up just because they are fancy, they are (were) the new white cards, they simple forgot about rituals for a long time, not to say they ignore them completely since strike of neos, sure they released ritual raven, so what????, how much support synchros have received???how many tuners and support cards??? Thank god Konami suddenly remembered these "cute blue monsters" existed, i mean, it is just a matter of balance.

It depends on the duelist and the deck it's self.
I prefer Synchro and Fusion's myself. Rituals are a little hard to get out.
Some synchro's are hard to get out. But if you build a deck right, you can get a card out like Tyrant Dragon or XX-Saber Gottoms out EASY!! I can get my Gottoms out first turn if I draw right.
While Fusions are easy if your deck is built right. E-Hero's for example, the cards are ALL there. Hell for a while some E-Hero decks ran Ritual cards. Can't remember the card though.
I respect everything if it can be done well, even the bloodied consept of Lightsworns, Blackwings, and the Dark Counter-Part cards. Because there run well.
....Sorry for being so long winded. ^-^;

The simple fact is Konami are trying to balance the game. They hate the metagame and now give us reports on Shonen Jump decklists to show how the balance tips from deck to deck. They will continue to power-up Yu-Gi-Oh's failed cards and create new groups until all is evenly balanced... Of course this isn't easy as they are also taking advantage of our obsession by releasing cards such as Brionac in expensive packs to get as much out of us as possible.

True. I have to hear about Yu-Gi-Oh's unbalanced card collection from MtG players at school everyday.
I just tell 'em to stop bitching, play there game and I'll play mine.
But the balance probably won't be happening till I'm like 26.....and I'm 16.

well, whether you use synchros, rituals, or fusions, its really based on your playing style and how fast you want to get powerful monsters on the field, synchros were meant to be speedy so you can bring out heavy hitters without all the stalling and "luck of the draw", fusions and rituals are slower than synchros when it comes to summoning but are still very usefull and effective

Synchro's also fit into any deck without having to alter much while a Ritual deck needs to be built around the Ritual Monsters.

I'm all for speed, so I use synchro monsters, rituals and fusions are good, but in my opinion synchro monsters are one of the best inventions the Yugi-Oh tcg ever came up with

Ive been playing yugioh since it came to the U.S thats ten years, I quit and went to play magic and saw the light off playing that game and decided that I'd go back to playing my old game.
I had quit at the realese of E-heros, and had come back to see the new white bordered cards called synchros, Now Ive always loved to home brew back in the old days where you could do just about anything. I had learnd that cards like Glad beasts existed a fairly cheap deck to make in most price ranges.
Gettting my butt whooped I went to my local hobby store and learned what was good, and how to really play them game and to nolonger be a scrub, I built a preety decent plant deck and could clean the field the second turn and held well agains G beasts.
but back to the point as a heavy magic player I realized that yugioh isnt cheap in price range or in playability, you do have to think with every play.
So it doesnt matter which is better its according to your meta, the way you think an how fast it is to play them they're for in my opinion synchros in my meta are fairly better the rituals.
its all in the meta
