So I used to dance hardcore,
but stopped due to conflict with the school.
And gained about 10-20kg [22-44lbs] pretty quickly.
As a result,
I now have stretch marks on the insides of my upper arms, my stomach,
thighs and hips.
They make me really self conscious about myself,
I won't even wear sleeveless shirts.
I'm working on fading them with cocoa butter.
I'm more worried that they will never fade completely,
and that my skin won't shrink back as I lose weight.

Did anyone have them before they lost weight?
Did your skin shrink back?

I have some whitish stretch marks on my hips and thighs whee

I'm hoping they'll go away when I lose more weight, but really, even if they don't go away, think of it like this: if you have a fit, toned, great body, is anyone really going to care if you have stretch marks?

I have stretch marks on my upper thighs. I'm trying lotions and other things for it. I think once you loose enough weight then they go away. I'm not sure though.

It's possible that they will go away as you lose weight and your skin returns to its original shape, but it's also possible they will stay. There's no proof that cocoa butter or Vitamin E will make stretch marks fade. They do naturally fade over time, to the point where they may be nearly imperceptible.

Apparently Bio oil is good for this, you could try it.

Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate. Get in the bath and soak once or twice a week and take something like a loofa (or my cheaper alternative, a dollar store version of a scotch brite pad, don't use actual scotch brites unless you're used to using abrasive things in the bath or you'll get scratches.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'm pretty sure that people only end up with excess skin if they lose weight UNNATURALLY fast, as in through an eating disorder or gastric bypass surgery or weight loss pills. If you're losing weight the healthy way (diet & exercise), you shouldn't have a problem.

This is what I've heard as well, but I cant guarentee it.

In regards to stretch marks, they do tend to fade naturally. Lotion will probably help, as well as cocoa butter, but it's not proven or guarenteed. Spray tans or makeup can help cover if you feel that uncomfortable about them, but just make sure to be careful and not get it on your clothes.

Don't worry they should fade a bit lighter in time.

Though that wasn't enough for me i was crazy enough to go get them tattooed over. ^^;

It's a myth that cocoa butter helps fade stretch marks, but if you feel it helps...keep doing it.

The cocoa butter really only helps BEFORE stretch marks appear.

But anyways, onto your question...
There's not much you can do.
Luckily, some of them will fade.
When I hit puberty, I had stretch marks on my hips, thighs, stomach, and even boobs. They were reddish pink. But eventually, they faded to be less noticable.

AND THEN I GAINED WEIGHT.
got some new stretchies, and they are noticeably darker.
i guess i just don't care, though i can understand why you would.
just try to take comfort in knowing that you're not alone.
so many women have them, and it doesn't even necessarily go hand in hand with "fat"

as for the extra skin, it just depends on how much weight you lose, and how fast you do it.

the skin is amazingly enduring and elastic, but if you have a lot of weight to lose, pace it.
