Has anyone tried lapband to?

During last July I went into surgery for a lap-band.

It is nothing like the gastro bypass surgery everyone hears about. Lap-band is more suttle. You dont loose anything just gain something when you do the surgery. Its a band that goes around your stomach and cuts a big part off and gives you a little part. So that when you eat you can only take so much in.

It has worked for me and I believe I am up to loosing almost 30 pounds now from it.

I was wondering if anyone else has the surgery

I haven't, and I haven't really thought about it. I want to lose weight on my own and learn to eat healthily rather than not be able to eat much unhealthy foods.

I had it this past may. i feel kinda guilty and like a failure for it

My parent want me to get it (17 at the moment; nearly 18 ) Kinda because they knew I've been over weight since birth, and I'll be the genipig for my father since he's a little coward-ish to do it 1st.

I'm not strongly against it, nor strongly for it. But i guess i do want it because i have a few family members who've done it succesfuly.


PS: i dont think you cheated. Everyone has there ways of doing things that work there own way.

No, although I have considered as a 'last resort' option. Thankfully it looks like I won't have to go that route, as I'd rather lose weight without surgery if I can. It definitely requires an entire lifestyle change though, and so anyone considering it should take some time to decide if they can really stick with it for good.
