On 9/8/09 project needlemouse was announced. according to the short teaser, it is a 2-D sonic game, built from the ground up!

wow, what a douche bag....ur a d**k to me because i accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

and then you pretty much take my idea.....of course its not exactly the same but you took the general idea

Hopefully this doesnt turn out to be a total let down like Unleashed and add something stupid to the hedgehog like the werehog thing. But being a 2D game, it should hold promise since most of the best sonic games were in 2d anyways minus the Rivals series.

unleashed was amazing....the werehog wasnt my favorite but the daytime levels kicks a**. >.> so fast <3

Agreed, werehog could have been better since it was kind of slow but it was fun in the night levels and the day levels were really fun, my only complaint for Unleashed would be the medals, so annoying unable to keep going till you find more

It has now been officially confirmed that Sonic will be the only playable character in this game. Also it has been hinted that the game will be downloadable only, much like Megaman 9
