Preface

People always thought that my smile was ever-lasting; that my life was extremely joyous with nothing dreadful ever happening to it. But, they thought wrong. My smile is ever-lasting but not because I’m happy, but because I always used laughter and smiles to cover my sorrow. I was never a content child, but my illusions were excellent. No one had ever suspected that I was living a phony life; the thought never even came up. Even if they did know my secret, no one would ever believe that I, Gabriella Wilson, would ever have grief catch up with me.

I'm curious to see what you could make out of this. I will say however, be careful which turns and twists you take. I've seen too many books and stories start like this, all ending up being about teenage drama. However, I like the way you describe your characters emotions, hidden as they are behind her mask.

Try to go with it. I need to see more to give you a better response.
