In Daniel 1 it is said that Daniel was chosen to serve in the king's palace because of order of the King. It was Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. They were offered food, royal food, food that Daniel not to defile himself with it. If we apply this to today's life, we can say that the table is the world and the food are the things it offer's us, wether we choose them or not. We should follow the same footsteps as Daniel and not let ourselves be contaminated witht he world, because like it says in the bible: Matthew 5: 14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."
