What the title says really. I am looking for a quick and easy way to paint three pairs of Citadel Woods that I have for my table.

What do the trees themselves look like, unpainted? I'd be better able to help with pictures.

Other than that, I'd go black basecoat, dark brown, and then dry-brush a lighter brown. Also consider using some cheap green flock to simulate moss growing on the side of the trunk.

Do you want them to be that grey/green, or actual brown?

Brown, I'm not going for the wrist slicing depressing colours of the 'Eavy Metal team.

Then yeah, drybrush from dark to light and it should come out nicely. That's how I did my trees, afraid I don't have them here to take pictures.

I don't know if you've had much chance to put those trees to use yet Brookman but from personal experience, they're a pain to use. At least the set at my local hobby store are, the foliage always breaks off I find. Ray Earth magnets would of course settle that issue or pin vicing the darn things but simply glueing them doesn't seem to help.

As for painting advice, go with what the others suggested but I'd slide on a 50% water down coat of chestnut ink if you are doing browns or of black ink if you are doing grays. It finishes off the blending and puts some very nice darks back into the piece. You may want to matt varnish after ward though as shiny trees are not a very common sight. lol
