So what are your little tricks?

I pre-cut my bagels and put them in the freezer so that if I'm not planning to make them a meal, that I can just take out one side. (Also the bagels I get while not counting as low calorie, are ridiculously healthy bread and at 200 cal per whole bagel, cutting out one is like cutting out 100 calories. : D)

Im trying to cut down on snacking between meals, and using fruit as pre/post work out snacks if i need it. Drinking water helps, esp if you just want something to do (e.g. when im working i like to mindlessly snack, but i can replace that with mindlessly sipping water). Eggs are pretty low calorie and make a good snack or sandwich filling, and the protein keeps you full for longer. Other than that, distraction! Doing something like going to the gym, playing a sport, this all gets you away from the fridge!

Don't be too generous on the eggs,
1 egg yolk has 60% of your recommended cholesterol intake

yeah i try not to have them more than twice a week, they make a nice alternative to getting protein through chicken xD

STRESS

stress=less time to eat and reduced appetite.

Heartbreak is also an amazing way to reduce your food intake, reduced appetite, feel sick constantly and throw up what you do manage to eat.

Um. Sure, heartbreak works to cut down eating, unless you're a stress-eater, and you instead pig out whenever you're sad or angry. However, it's an incredibly unhealthy way to cut down on your eating.

Instead, if you want to cut down on what you eat, why not just... cut down on what you eat?

* Serve yourself a full plate as usual, then cut everything in half and put it in the fridge for tomorrow.

* Eat your vegetables first, then fruits, then your (lean) meats and/or (low-fat or non-fat) dairy servings, then your carbs. If you fill up first on the vegetables and fruits, you'll need less of the things that add pounds to you, just to feel satisfied.

* Eat until you're satisfied, not until you're full. That's reducing your intake by at least 1/4 already.

* Don't use butter or oil on your vegetables, except for the required 3 teaspoons of Healthy Oils each day (olive, canola, sunflower, safflower, and flaxseed are the Healthy Oils -- other oils may be healthy, but these five contain things your body actually can't do without).

* Drink at least one glass of water in between each meal, one with each meal, and then two others at some point throughout the day.

When buying nuts, have them in the shell. Breaking them open seriously cuts down on how many are consumed, as opposed to grabbing handfuls from a can. >_o

Indeed! I'm also now incorporating morning walks into my week; my youngest sister and I were feeding squirrels with said nuts, too. :B
