ThisEmptySoul Queen-tintin um, does anyone play in the game area here? just curious! If I knew how to rp well I would..but I don't find myself to good at that! redface To be honest, pretty much everyone active in the roleplay forum here in GGG never really roleplayed before we started it in the guild. What's now Geezerville originated as random chatter and actions that spread across multiple threads in the gameroom.
Personally, I've, for the most part, stopped visiting the gameroom since the majority of the threads there that I would visit frequently got moved to the roleplay forum. So the roleplay forum is the place to be then, ok I think I understand; but do I have to make up a superficial character?

There's no single way to roleplay, but you are playing a role so you'll need a character to fit into the role you want them to fulfill. How normal or far out you want them to be is up to you. I pretty much just act and talk as I would normally as Kai and he's evolved in his own way through interactions with the other RPers. You can do what feels right to you. Most of us show up to BS and chat for a while so you shouldn't feel like you have to do anything to fit in.

You can make up a character, but you don't have to. I personally have a whole plethora of them, but that's just me. emotion_facepalm A lot of the current characters didn't start out as characters and just became that way over time as our overactive imaginations decided to make up stuff about them along the way. Just so long as you don't go too crazy with the sudden developments.
It will be assumed that your avatar represents your character, though... as that's how we've been playing things from the beginning. A lot of what you'd probably want to know before jumping in can be found here, though the "places of interest" post hasn't been updated in a while because I'm lazy.
Just a heads up, I am the local a*****e both in and out of character by the way. Most have learned to deal with me in their own ways, but you're welcome to ignore me if I'm too assholish for you.
