Hogwarts and Reincarnation? [ full, read along ]

Cedric chuckled and put a forkful of pancakes into his mouth, letting the fork dangle there before cutely pulling it out. He enjoyed the attention he was getting and couldn't help but play it up. He shook his head, letting his silky hair follow and heard a resounding awe from the girls around him. He flashed a brilliant smile and took a drink of juice from his cup. He speared a strawberry with his fork and looked around for a girl to feed it to. The girls were cheering for him to pick her and he chose a girl with soft copper curls and freckles. She squealed and ate the strawberry. He gave her a wink and she swooned.

The girls soon left, oogling over the girl whom was called Daphne and how lucky she was. Cedric stood up and went over to Rowen. He slapped him on the back and grinned. "How are you mate?" He asked with a chuckle.

Rowen jumped at the slap on his back, thank goodness most people were still asleep. "Fine, you didn't have to come to see me sleep yesterday. i was fine " he said trying to push the seriousness away from the conversation while still sounding appreciative of Cedric coming to see if he was alright. "But thank for coming anyway." he said quietly. Rowen didn't like to express much of his emotions. he had grown up shy and introverted choosing to remain within himself than rather being with others.

He cut his pancake eating it with small bites, almost as if he wasn't hungry, even though he was. He offered Cedric sit down with him since not a lot of people were showing up to breakfast yet, since it was a two hour breakfast period people could come in late or come in early if they wished. He moved over wanting Cedric, his only friend to sit next to him. As he moved over Brendon sat across from the pair.

"That's the guy who stayed with you last night." Brendon said as he smiled. "Looks like he found you again." he chuckled as he ate his pancakes and eggs, looking Cedric over. They were both first years they had to learn a lot of things, mainly that friendships outside of houses were looked down upon and that their friendship would mainly be a hidden one since most house members choose to make friends with people of their own kind.

Cedric smiled warmly. "Hey, Thanks for looking after my buddy here. Met him on the train... He's a good kid. Little odd though." He chuckled as he gently punched Rowen in the arm. "I'm Cedric by the way," He extended his hand across the table to shake Brendon's hand.

Cedric had a certain air about him that he could befriend anyone. People saw past the whole house division things and just be friends. He always had a certain talent of befriending people. Cedric began chatting it up with Brendon and was soon crowded by other Ravenclaws, girls mostly. Cedric let out a beautiful laugh and all the girls swooned. He grinned and nudged his friend. "Girls," He introduced. "This is my pal, Rowen. Now treat him right. He's kind of shy." He chuckled and a girl wrapped her arms around Rowen's neck. "I'll be good to him." She whispered, playing with his hair. Cedric snickered beside him. "Well I've got to go get ready for classes. See you later girls." He winked and heard a resounding AW as he left the table.

Brendon shook Cedric's hand. "It was no problem." he said chuckling softly as the girls, yet again surrounded Cedric.

Rowen felt odd as all the girls clamored around the first year, what was he like a flame to the girls who were moths. He didn't quite understand why? Cedric was just a boy like the rest of the guys here at Hogwarts, shouldn't they like all the guys? Rowen dismissed his chain of thought as a girl wrapped her arms around him, he shifted uncomfortable with the girl being so close to him.

As Cedric left so did all the girls. Thank God. Rowen went back to eating his food and then when finished he got ready to go to his first class, which was Charms 101. He took his schedule walking to find this room and a Professor Filius Flitwick.

He walked around the school until he finally found the room. He walked through the door frame seeing the grand room, with an arena type of seating where there were name cards folded nicely for students to find where they sit. The were arranged randomly and that would be there seat for the class. Rowen looked up and down the rows til he found he seat and he sat down, a box in front of him that wasn't there before. he opened it finding a wand, an ebony wood wand. He touched it afraid at first until he gently took it in his hand examining it.

Cedric made his way to Charms 101. He grinned as he spotted his new friend. He quietly sneaked behind him and wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling him back. He laughed as Rowen's eyes grew large. "Relax Buddy. It's just me!" He grinned and let him go, patting him on the head. "You need to loosen up." He advised with a nod before trailing off to go find his package.

He was seated to a very pretty hufflepuff named Melissa Lee. She had pretty black hair and blue eyes. He ran a hand coyly through his hair as he chatted with the girl. Soon the Professor arrived and tried without avail to quiet the class. So Cedric lept up and shushed everyone to pay attention and they did as he said. The professor smiled gratefully. "50 points to Hufflepuff for Mr. Diggory's kindness." Cedric grinned brightly as the class cheered for him. But he shushed them again.

Rowen softly frowned, he wished that he was as well liked as Cedric. He was what everyone wanted to be and what everyone looked up to. His eyes went downcast as he looked to the board where the teacher was. Where he was writing what there first lesson would be, something called Wingardium Leviosa. Rowen got out his fountain ink pen, black ink and paper as he started to write down the charm. As he finished the instructor was explaining how to use the spell.

”First, you must take your wand in your dominant hand, whether it be right or left, and then you gently swish and flick your wand and say the charm, Wingardium Leviosa.” and as he said that the feather in front of him started to gently levitate into the air. The whole of kjids were in awe as they saw the feather lift up, but Rowen’s meek voice broke out from the silence that was deafening the room. As they turned to see what was happening Rowen’s feather was in the air.

The Raevnclaws cheered, the girl from earlier, whose name is Sarah Bitherby, she came over to him smiling and cheering him on. But, Rowen was a bit unresponsive as he was uncomfortable around her.

Cedric beamed. "Way to go Rowen! Dude!" He cheered as he picked up his own wand in his right hand. His hand flourished nicely and his feather soon rose into the air. He beamed. "This is great! I feel powerful!" He grinned, making his feather do tricks in the air.

Now all the students were trying. There was a lot of noise and flicking of wrists but soon a fair few of the feathers were flying in the air. "Yeah Class!" Cedric cheered and the girl beside him batted her eyelashes. "Cedric, could you help me?" She asked, flirting with a smile. Cedric nodded and brought his feather down. He wrapped his arms around her, holding on to her wand hand. You could tell she was enjoying having his arms around her. She'd probably be telling every girl after class. He showed her how to flick her wrist and soon her feather was flying too. She cooed happily. "Thanks Ceddy!" She exclaimed and kissed his cheek. He just smily coyly and went back to his feather.

Rowen could see how the girl was being coy with Cedric, asking him to help her. He eyes slightly narrowed as he felt his stomach turn to knots. His feather slowly drifted back down to his desk where he sat down as decided it was best to ignore it, but his eyes couldn’t help but see his best and only friend not pay attention to him. He sighed and felt his heart sink to the bottom of his rib cage as his hand scribbled down some notes.

The teacher tried to quiet down the kid as they eventually did sitting down as he marveled at how well the children were already doing. The bell rang signaling the children to leave. At Hogwarts the classes were not all one day as one would expect, it was set up similarly like a college where students would have certain classes for however long. Rowen stood somberly and gathered his things as he went to his house common room.

As he walked others were talking about this or that, mainly Cedric. He seemed to be quite the celebrity. But, why wouldn’t he be? Charming, smart, handsome; everything anyone could want in a best friend and more, so unlike Rowen who was shy, introverted and not attractive. Once, Rowen reached his house common room entrance, the door stood there barren with no knob or handle only a bronzed eagle shaped knocker which proposed this question; ”What is the only creature to have four legs in the morning, two legs during the afternoon and three legs during the evening?” Rowen thought for a minute and then another.

He looked up at the picture and said, ”A centaur?”

The picture responded, ”You are incorrect, your entrance is not allowed.” Rowen was about to protest but the picture became blank faced again, not willing to take anymore answers from him. He would have to wait until another Ravenclaw could figure out the riddle. So Rowen decided it would be best to sit, not knowing how long it would take another to show up.

Thirty minutes went by then another; time seemed to take forever until Brendan appeared around the corner walking to the same area where Rowen was. The older Ravenclaw smiled and squatted down to his level. ”You must have gotten the riddle wrong, let me help.” he said standing as the picture looked at him proposing the same question; ”What is the only creature to have four legs in the morning, two legs during the afternoon and three legs during the evening?”

Brendan thought for a moment and then smiled widely with the answer. ”It is man, for when we are young we must crawl and then when we grow older we learn to walk and then when we are older still we must use a cane.” The picture nodded softly, the frame moving forward and letting the two enter. Rowen couldn’t stop thanking Brendan twice now he had helped him, Brendan was a true friend to Rowen and it made his heart glow when the other would be so nice to him.

Cedric watched his friend leave and sighed softly. "Rowen!" He called, but it fell on deaf ears. He was out of reach to hear him. The girl caught up with him and smiled. "I'm Jessica. Would you care to join me in the courtyard?" She asked, smiling with sparkling blue eyes. Cedric took one last look after Rowen and shrugged. "Sure." He answered, hanging his arm over her shoulders and walking them both out to the courtyard.

Jessica squealed as they went into the courtyard. All of the girls were staring in anger. She smiled smugly and led Cedric towards a tree which over looked the lake. "Beautiful isn't it?" She asked. Cedric nodded. "It's beautiful." He agreed. They looked in silence for a while before Cedric realized he needed something from the common room. He excused himself and went off to their common room, quickly getting the answer and chilled in the chair until his next class.

As the days went on things at Hogwarts seemed normal, every now and then Rowen would notice a new horde of girls worshipping the ground Cedric walked on. Were girls really that shallow? He sighed to himself as he tried to ignore it as much as possible, which meant staying away from Cedric most of the time. He tended to stay in the library, for no particular reason he just found it more comforting than hearing girls adorn Cedric with their constant cooing over his every move.

As he picked up his book and began to read, his mind started to wonder. Of course Cedric was a nice person but why were girls so interested in him? He looked no better than anyone else in Rowen’s opinion. He sighed as he set down the book, finding it’s words not comforting. Leaving it there he decided to take a brisk walk. As he did he came upon the courtyard seeing Cedric just sitting there with the girls still worshiping him. Rowen rolled his eyes in disgust as he walked by.

He felt bad though, Cedric was his friend but the way he acted around women made Rowen sick. It seemed so unlike Cedric to let them just hand on his every word. He expected Cedric to at least ask on out, but he didn't, he walked up to Cedric and downcast his eyes as he needed to talk to him. "Cedric? Rowen asked as all the girls turned their heads to acknowledge the other boy.

Cedric peered up at his friend and smiled widely. "Hey Rowen, buddy, what's up?" He asked cheerfully, shooing a girl over so Rowen could sit with them. "How've you been? Haven't seen you much. Girls this is my best mate Rowen. He's very shy." He informed the girls. "What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" He asked, running a hand through his hair.

"Well, I.. I and you.. and the girls.." he stopped hanging his head in defeat he couldn't tell Cedric he just wanted to spend more time with him and not have the constant eye gauging with the girls hanging over Cedric every second. He sighed, his voice becoming softer "It's nothing. Just wanted to make sure you had the notes for Charms Exam." he said handing him the most recent notes they took. They didn't have an exam until another few weeks something was fishy, but Rowen tried to play it off, his horrible sense of honesty getting to him.
