My Wonderland


Whenever I sit down and think about life
I always think this.
Life is like Wonderland.
There’s always a Queen who’s mad because you said something.
There’s always silly people who do nothing but waste your valuable time.
There’s always somebody who helps out.
There’s always somebody who won’t.
There’s always an occasion to have tea and cake.
There’s always somebody who’s very, very late.
For a very important date.
No time to say hello, goodbye.
If you keep running, you’ll always get dry.
There’s lot of flowers to talk to.
If you look into a tree, you might just see a cat
Who’s grinning right back.
Yet under all the smiles, fun and laughter,
There’s something truly dark and scary.
When out at night, do be wary.
We’re all not quite right
And we’re all a little mad.
Nothing is as it seems and that’s all I can say.
Ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies.
As I sip my tea, and set down my silly book of silly facts,
I think to myself, if life is like Wonderland, then I must be Alice.
I took into the tree under which I'm taking a rest.
I smile a smile to sweet and gently smooth my fluffly blue dress.
Curiouser and curiouser and down the rabbit hole I go.
