I heard about this awhile ago, and was waiting for someone to say something about it here, but no one ever did, and the forum's been kinda slow lately, so...

Quote:
Paul McCartney has revealed plans to a unveil a previously unreleased Beatles song.
An experimental piece, approximately 14 minutes long, 'Carnival Of Light' was recorded in 1967 for the electronic music festival The Million Volt Light and Sound Rave, but was never released.
According to BBC News, McCartney had previously pushed for the song to be included on The Beatles' Anthology 2 release, but it was vetoed by the rest of the band - allegedly due to George Harrison’s dislike of avant-garde music.

I'm not sure if that's a reliable source, I just googled it.
What do you think about it?

I've been hearing about that, yeah.

I wouldn't mind listening to it for the craziness I'm expecting, but I'm sort of wondering why Paul still wants to release it if the rest of the band vetoed it.

Oh well.

I'm a bit apprehensive about it. If John, George, and Ringo didn't like it...

I heard about it too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I have all these bootlegs, and a lot of Paul's songs that weren't released were really bad. Just throwing that out there. I mean, they really were terrible.

Oh, I don't think many people are expecting it to actually be good.

No, I know, I'm just saying. They're fun to hear anyway though.

Haha, it's okay, I was being jokey, not...sarcastic...? I dunno, it's hard to convey tone of voice by typing.

And yeah. I would still like to hear the ridiculousness.

I assume it will be something like "Revolution 9". I actually don't mind that song, it's fun to listen to it sometimes. I always find something new I didn't hear before.
I always think of it like this- a lot of the earlier Beatles' music is supermarket music- I've actually heard it in supermarkets before. But they would never play "Revolution 9" in a supermarket, it would scare the crap out of a lot of old ladies.
I think it's cool that they were able to play music that was more "edgy".
But, I guess you can't describe it as "good" music. It's hard to call it music at all.
It's just not something you'd want to hear at a supermarket.
