What's it like to fall from a 10 story building?
What's it like? Can you tell me?
I heard it through the grapevine; you are all talk.
Can you tell me? Can you tell me differently?
Each day with you pushes me further and further away.
Can you tell me differently? Do you know me at all?
And now I'm ready to fly, to soar through God's majestic sky.
Do you know me at all? Well here's your chance.
Everything and nothing all at once, tell me your greatest fear.
Well here's your chance, are you afraid to fall?
Heights are irrelevant when you're learning to fly.
Are you afraid to fall? Take my hand.
A countdown, three, two, one. Fall, soar, and now it's done.
Take my hand. Let's meet eternity.
You were all talk; I saw it with my own eyes.
But I know better now

Poets note:

Okay so basically you may be thinking the obvious about this
poem; two people jumping off a building.

Now I would like to clear a few things up about this poem.

I used a 10 story building as an analogy for God and salvation.
Sometimes it seems really terrifying giving your life over to
somebody else because you think you know best for yourself.
I guess in my case it seemed as scary as falling from a building.

The second thing I introduce is a non-believer, anyone, in my own
life. Someone who maybe claims to believe in God but never shows
it. Therefore they are "all talk". "Each day with you pushes me
further and further away" refers to said non-believer taking you
out of righteous routines. In my own life many of my friends are
not Christians and they continuously cause me to cuss and do things
I regret because I am weak in that area, and being with those that
do those things tempts me back into old ways.

Basically "soaring through God's majestic sky" talks about me being
ready to dive in to Christ's teachings and shed my old skin.

"Tell me your greatest fear" refers to "why are you scared of accepting
Jesus into your life?". As well as "are you afraid to fall" talks about
giving up old habits, ways and beliefs.

The rest talks about jumping into forever, into salvation that we have
received from accepting Christ Jesus into our lives. We have now taken
the plunge off this "building", and we are doing it together.

Hope that cleared it up!

Are you ready to take the plunge?
