charamath Ah, GTA lost my interest too quickly to play it for any length of time. And the movie you're thinking about I think is not out yet. I'm pretty sure I just saw the preview of it. The one where he's abusing his authority? Yeah, that's the one... I don't know if that movie'll be any good if he's screaming... er, "talking" like he does in the other movies he's done.

I never had a big fascination with Ironman until I saw the movie.
IT WAS AMAZING!
I hate to say it, but holy cow did Downy give Stark life. I just can't imagine anybody else pulling off the character anywhere near the same way.
I read the Civil War chapter of the marvel universe recently (well parts of it), and was very saddened by Ironman's point of views. In fact I can't even imagine the movie version, Downy's character, fulfilling that role. Granted: the movie isn't canon, the comic is. So what happens in the comic is the "accurate true" representation of what's going on. However, the movie version is what Ironman was originally, it's the origin. One of my friends is a HUGE comic buff, and he loved Downy's portrayal.
Let's just hope the movies never reproduce the Civil War saga of the Marvel universe, it's simply too grim.

The Playdough Bunny I enjoy super heros that do not have super powers because during battles they can alway struggle and them *BOOM* a special ability they did not know they had saves them from near death! It just feels like a cheap and easy way out.Just make something up to end the battle ya know? I love the little animals using the light savoirs. Cute.

Oh yeah, I put my $5 down on a special edition DVD last week!
I really think it's the best to date of the superhero/comic book movies. I'm not including The Dark Knight in that group, since it leapt into a much different zone altogether. I would almost classify Dark Knight as a psychological thriller; it almost didn't need Batman -- not to slight Christian Bale. Dark Knight never would have been made if Bale hadn't taken Batman to such an incredible height in Batman Begins. But I digress...as usual.
It was so awesome with Iron Man to see great acting, great directing and a great script come together in a fun movie. Everything felt right: Just enough tech, just enough balls, just enough reality, just enough unreality. I'm only sorry I didn't get to see it a second time on the big screen.
But hey, I have a ginormous TV so it's all good! mrgreen

TemporarilyIdle I never had a big fascination with Ironman until I saw the movie. IT WAS AMAZING! I hate to say it, but holy cow did Downy give Stark life. One of my friends is a HUGE comic buff, and he loved Downy's portrayal. Let's just hope the movies never reproduce the Civil War saga of the Marvel universe, it's simply too grim. Well most of the Marvel movies such as X-Men and Iron Man have been based loosley off of the Marvel Ultimate Universe. It's a series of comic books that retells the heros and mutants stories in a different way. The actual official timeline of Marvel is so full of side stories and buggy a** timelines and alternate universes that it would be hard to accurately depict in the movies. Nick Fury is white in the regular Marvel Universe but his depiction in the Ultimate Universe is based off of and used with permission of Samuel L Jackson. (So you see why i was tickled by his appearance in the movie) Okay going back to the movie! There should be two more Iron Man movies planned or as far as i've heard from what i read from the director. He envisioned it as part of a trilogy. I cant wait to see War Machine in the next movie if you noticed Rhodes said "Next time baby" after looking at the suit I freakin had a fanboy moment when i saw that as well ^^ From what i've been reading on the web for the second movie will have The mandarin in it! ^^ The Ironman II movie will probably be released before the Avengers movie. but we'll see after all these things come together more. -edit- "officially, an Iron Man sequel is slated for 2010 along with Thor, and two “Avenger-themed” movies in summer of 2011: Captain America (May) and The Avengers (July)."

I have a count down going on till the DVD comes out. Iron Man was amazing, simply amazing. It's the first time my husband didn't get up during a movie to go the restroom. And he nearly broke the seat he was bouncing so much from the exitement during the fight scenes and he informed me afterwards that he wants a Jarvis of his very own.
gah... having to look up Jarvis's name made me loose my train of thought. Will be back once the tracks are repaired.

Yay! the awesomeness is out, everybody do a happy dance! Forget the week's worries and chill in front a nice flat screen t.v. and enjoy the ups and downs of Tony Stark~ Yeah, I don't have a flat screen myself but i'm still going to watch it today!
Anyhow, yeah in just watching Stark interact with Jarvis I felt like a techie wimp of wimps. The killer keyboard made me drool. ^ ^

Yeah, Stan Lee, one of the creators of Iron Man, usually makes cameos in the marvel movies. It's great~
