I knew a bassoon player once. Sung "500 miles". Never saw him again.


Well, Ive met a fair few on various band exploits. Theres only one in my school. Hes slightly annoying but he's still cool because he is another one of the "only person to play that instrument in band so although actually quite good gets crap really easy backing parts because we get left out and its not fair"
So thats me, him, double bass (not quite sure why he is in a wind band) and we have a trombone in training, but she still can't really play her really easy parts.

I almost played basson but I thought the horn looked groovier.

I've played nearly every instrument in the band, though not bassoon as of yet.

I play bass. Have done for roughly three years. I own four-string, six-string, acoustic and fretless basses, but the fretless is rapidly becoming my main instrument.



I also play the sequencing soft-synth program... Particularly Reason 3. Many would say it's not *really* an instrument, but what the hell. It makes music, and is a fair sight more versatile than any *real* instrument ever invented.

I play the piano and cello, as some of you were probably aware.
Oh and cello > every other instrument. Except of course the Hammond organ. I want one of those so badly...
Oh, I have Reason 2. But I found it impossible to make anything other than really cheesy dance anthems on. Which is always fun I suppose.

Trumpet is a b*****d to learn...and if you leave it a week, it takes you a month to get back to where you were...great fun though biggrin

I quit trumpet for a good reason.

Reason is good for cheesy dance... but I'm currently using it for morose ambience, and I've seen some damn good orchestral scores done on it. Used properly, it's very versatile.

Doing grade 7 on flute and piano at the moment. And music theory. I'm really a composer, but I do the instruments for fun (and because I have to for AS music).

I also do a small amount of Viol playing on Wednesday evenings...facsimile stuff is fun biggrin
