I don't think he was autistic in the movie. Why do you think he was?
It wasn't stated, but the touch sensitivity, dislike of people changing the position of objects and routines, and social awkwardness made me wonder if that's what they were aiming for. To me he read like someone on the spectrum, either hfa or PDD.
