Synthetic Dreads Thread;;

So I happen to be INLOVE with synth dreads~~ I really want to make my own.

Has anyone made, bought, warn, or seen them?

beg pardon? This is a goth forum, why are you surprised by anything people would choose to wear here? I mean really now? I'm surprised at you.

I'm not surprised, so much as I am disgusted.

Not a fan of Gravers (or Cybers) or their fashion sense, and I've seen very few people who can pull it off without looking like a complete jackass.

anyone (guys included) can pull off the look with a little attention to detail, and a slightly creative eye.
it doesn't take much to weave materials together into dreds and stick em' to a headband or other item for wear.

saw a cool looking weave in Little Rock, Arkansas the other day...

the young lady had various lengths of dime store yarn woven together into thick plaits and attached to an ordinary black headband.

It wasn't the dreads that caught my eye....it was the attention to the little details that she wove into her headress that really set off the ensamble (little skulls, bits of ribbon, a couple of well placed skull n' crossbones, an evil kitty buried in the back, ect.)

when I asked her where she acquired her wig, she looked at me funny (cause i was in stealth goth mode...about as normal looking as I could be to keep my job) and stated that she makes them herself. I complimented her on her fashion choices, asked her how she attached the plaits to the headband (she let me look at the attachments, so now I have a good Idea about how they're made), thanked her for brightening my day, and proceded on down the road to my next destination.

it's still nice to know the creative spirit is still alive.

I made a pair of yarn hair falls two years ago. Sometime soon I'd like to make a set of Kanekalon dreads. I know how to do it and where to order it. I just need to figure out how much Kanekalon I'll need/how much money it will cost. I also have a bad habit of procrastinating. whee

I made my own synthetic hair falls ^^
I used Kanekalon Jumbo Braid Extentions.
3nodding
I wanted them so bad but wasnt about to buy them offline.
I bought $14.oo worth of extensions (7 packs)
It takes alot of motivation && time to do it.
I love them
