Well, for question 1, Juan uses Water types, so Electric and Grass type Pokemonj are your best bet for an easy win. Also avoid using Fire and Ground/Rock types. But really, train any Pokemon to a level higher than, say, 50, shouldn't have too hard a time. I used my Blaziken for quite a bit of the battle, and it was okay because it had enougth HP to withstand Juan's attacks. It's just like any gym battle, with good Pokemon and a bit of strategy, there's always a way to win. (*giggles* That sounded cheesy. I think I've watched the anime a bit too much....)
For question 2, I have no idea whatsoever. I think it's kinda drag'n'drop, isn't it? I dunno, I still use the old school setting. Sorry.
