Both have 8 8th notes, 4/4 will have 4 strong beats of 2 8th notes each. 8/8 is generally 3 strong beats with 2 beats having 3 8th notes and the third having 2 8th notes.

^almost correct^ you are correct, but not entirley. The seconary difference between 4/4 and 8/8 is the way of writing. let's take the eigth and the six-tuplets. Usually, if written well, the 4/4 will be connected but 8/8 will seperate the eigth and the tuplet and so on. The primary and most important difference is the counting. when + means the second eigth: 4/4 - 1 2 3 4 while 8/8 - 1+1+1+1+

If my memory dosen't turn against me, the primary chords in B major are: B [1st] D# [3rd] and F# [5th]. I think that this is what you mean.

The primary CHORD is the notes you listed - the CHORDS are B Major, E Major and F# Major; the I, IV, and V Chords which are most commonly used in most simple accompaniments. But go ahead and ask another question - I owe you one!

If I have E dim. then:
A) what is my scale? (that's a no-brainer)
B) what is my I, III, V and VII of E dim.?
C) what is the V7 of the vi in the scale? [that is the trickiest...]
