People at my school made fun of me and my best friend for liking My Chem. I have listened to them for 3 years, and my devotion never wavers. But now everyone is saying things like "Have you heard of MCR? I love them." And it makes me sad. All of these people don't even realize that they made fun of the same band about 3 years ago. *shakes head* Its ridiculous.

I know alot of other people might have said this already... but OHWELL! Anywho.. It's really friggen stupid how people act. They think they're better than you, but don't let it get to you. Tell them to F*** Off and be done with it.. I don't understand how people can hate someone just because of the music they listen to... That's really sad.. And it's pointless... Cause just by someone saying they hate you because of your music pref.. Well, they're missing out on what a friggen awesome person you could be. It's their loss, so don't even let it bug you. Just turn around and walk off without another word.

Things got a wee bit better here... the three guys who used to rip on me about my music are just stupid idiots and one nearly got arrested for scateboarding in a supermarket parking lot.... holding onto the back of a truck when another guy was hanging out the passenger door, atempting to grab a cart.... It was just sad... mrgreen Who can say JU-VIE!!!
Thing that gets to me the most in a way is when they don't rip on it, but said they throughly dislike it... and this guy is dating my sister! crying !!
Everyone else I ignore sucsessfully and I can live with them and I've seen a lot of ripping, but my sis's boyfriend dislikes my music. He's a great guy but he just hates my music! ARG!! He's a Johnny Cash person.... AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Our muuussiiccc.... It conficts!! Not to say MCR and Cash are different, but I don't like Cash and he don't like MCR!
I think we'll get along great other wise, he likes vampires and random fun stuff, like ordering a Pi-za for no reason, but whenever the day comes that we both get stuck in a car together for a long period of time and someone has to choose what music is on the radio... "We'ze gonna have some problemz hea!" (we're going to have some problems here)

that is really lame. its his opinion that your taste is music sucks and its you opinion that your taste in music is good. he can go listen to his own music. you're not forcing him to listen to yours (right?) just out of interest... did he tell you what he liked?

Those people will grow up someday and learn to respect the preferences of others.

I hate when people do that! I have always gotten a lot of crap because of what I listen to. I used to be a huge Hanson fan and wow did people hate on me! I didn't care though. I have the same problems now that I love MCR. I could care less what they say it will never change my mind about the bands I love.

I can honestly say that I'm very lucky to live in ireland... Here it's more so who do you listen to... oh I don't reaaly like them... meh... done... It seems to be such a major issue in the US... Why is that?...
The only time I've ever had an experience of musical prejudice was in a cd shop... I was buying the beatles sgt. peppers album, beach boys best of collection, life on the murderscene and an irish language cd at the same time... the guy behind the counter was all like "are these all for you?" "yup mrgreen "... "no offence girl but you got one f***ed up taste in music"... I just smiled and replied "thank you!" as if it was the biggest compliment I ever recieved... but yeah.. that's the extent of music bashing I've ever recieved... I heart Ireland...

What does ''good music'' mean to him/her?
Tell him/her to respect the preferences of others

They're just jealous of MCR's skills.
That or they have severe hearing problems.
. . . or both.

Geez...I can't say kids I knew bashed my chem, but I was into Green Day quite a bit in high school and a few kids in the choir who I ate lunch with bashed them openly.
I wasn't happy they bashed them, but I knew to keep my mouth shut and to not make an issue of it...It would just lead to losing a friend. No one really bashes the music I like at college when I tell them what I'm listening to on my iPod at the moment or vice versa.
I keep my opinion to myself- and that kids should have done the same.
