Feline Anachronism

I wrote this a couple of years ago, and receintly recovered it in a major excavation of my room. It's about the over-used topic of unrequetted affection (bare with me, here). Tell me what you think.

Another wrong turn,
I fall into a snowbank.
The burning whiteness
Sears my now red skin,
Becoming numb with the cold.

Icey air wraps its arms around me,
Cruelly attempting to immitate
The way you keep her warm.

Pick myself up again.
Mocking sky displays your
Eyes in the atmosphere.

Frozen hands;
You hold hers.
Snowy lips;
You kiss hers.

Sitting in the snow now
I have no intent of
Re-entering the academic factory
Where she sits with you
Within a fortress of books.

Body heat melts the snow
Now soaking through my clothing,
Chilling my flesh.

To myself, I whisper:
"This is my world.
And she is his world."

Overused because everyone can identify with it!
I like the poem and especially the juxtaposition (hope that's the right word) in the 4th and 7th stanzas.
