::blushes:: Heh.... I love the books...
Around my home, we even started our own Crims group... We're pretty renound, and such. Causing mayhem and chaos, but helping out the littlies and fellow uglies, but we wreak havoc on those who mess with us or any innocent.
And we take the term Bubbly to full effect. XD

Shajinia ... I heart you... so much right now *runs off to join guild in xXBlind_No_MoreXx's banner* a-hem, now that I'm back... Those of you who have yet to read Uglies (God knows why not) notice the beautiful use of Ugly slang in her post... -la and -wa behind approprete names... nouns with -making at the end to allow it to become an adjective... truly an ugly conisuer... That's Pretty slang, not Ugly slang, Jin-la. The Uglies weren't bubbleheads yet, so they didn't talk like that. ^^ I finally read the other two books though! [Pretties and Specials] I did it in the past two days. It was so peace-making, sitting there reading and not paying attention to the nervous-making things going on around me. Now I just have to find the fourth one, and I shall be all up to speed! lmao. It's so sad-making though, how Zane-la died. But I was right. I still like David so much better. Sorry Jin-la. At first I didn't like the bubblehead talk, though. It was so not bubbly. Or icy, for that matter. I liked the Cutters though. I know how they feel. lol. I would totally be a Cutter if I could! They were just so icy!

lol, my bad. it had been a while since I read Pretties. Zane-la forthewin, though. he didn't seem as harsh as david, plus he was willing to put his life on the line so he would be able to hold Tally-wa again... so sad cry i did love Zane-la, just cause david's mom wasn't so cool. REALLY didn't like her. Didn't like Shay-la and the Cutters much, either, probably because most of the people I knew at the time who cut did so they say that they did so they would get attention, even if it was negative. Thinking back on it, Shay-la and the others did it for different reasons, but it's one of those where, yeah it may work but there was a better way (ie, the mind rain). Meh. Thanks for bringing it up though, because now I am much less negative about the Cutters as I was before.

I'm addicted to the Uglies series.
I remember being forced to read the first book, and found myself not being able to put it down.
I actually trudged through a field of snow to get to the public library, for the next 3 books.

Lol. Yeah. It is hard to remember some things when you move on to other books. Zane-la wasn't as harsh as David, but he also didn't grow up like David. And dislikeing David because of his mom is so not bubbly. Sure she was a b**** but that doesn't mean it totally rubbed off on David. But think about it, he grew up outside of anything remotely like the city. He only really had his mother [and father, until he died] to base his thoughts off of. Because that's what they are. They are emotional little brats who self-mutilate for pity, like it's their right to take anything and make it seem like a stereotypical thing that everybody hates and looks down upon, sorry] cut themselves just for the attention and pity they get. Read my "About Me" on my profile. I have a whole paragraph devoted to how much I dislike Emos. Other people cut but not for pity. Me, personally, I would hate it if someone tried to pity me. I would end up hating them. But yeah, Shay-la did it for different reasons. Not for pity, but to be able to feel. To be able to know that she's alive. That's why I would be a Cutter. That's basically my outlook on it.

Read the series. Pretty good.
I love some of their talk, like Tally-la & happy making.
Are the other books by the same author just as good?
I think there's something called the Midnighters or something?
But it never interested me...if I get a recommendation I may read it.
