My question: What happens to muscle after not using it for a long time, say, 8 months? I used to bike regularly, and my calves were freaking hard and really nice. Now, when I flex the muscle, it's almost exactly how it used to be, with a little bit of fat over it. And my legs are pretty strong- when I walk, it's always foot pain or issues breathing, never leg tiredness, that causes me to stop.
Which is weird, because I thought that since I stopped biking (bike broke, never got it fixed, got depressed, gained the 7 lbs I lost... plus another 5-10 gonk ) my muscle would turn to fat, but if fat can't turn to muscle, then the opposite would be true. And then I remembered I walk still a mile a day, and maybe that would be enough to sort of maintain the muscle.
But I don't know, do you guys have any idea?

if you don't use it, you do loose muscle. When loosing weight people always tell you to through in weight training as well because muscle is the first thing to go.
