So, I have these two books and I was wondering if they were good to read. I didn't see them anywhere in the recommended reading list for the guild so I'll state them here:
The Origins of Modern Witchcraft by Ann Moura
Italian Witchcraft by Raven Gramissi. (I probably won't use this to practice, but just to study.)
I do not practice Witchcraft but plan to someday, so help would be greatly appreciated. I used to read Silver Ravenwolf too, so I'm already in rehab.

The Origins of Modern Witchcraft by Ann Moura
Not impressed myself. Her anthropology is cherry picked to support her assertions often over better sources and like so many others- she doesn't give Gardner his due.

Very little in the way of historical understandings that aren't completely bastardized by the popular witchcult movement.

It's about as Italian as Buckland's books are Rroma.
