That woman looks far too familiar.

A good thing to do is to take features from multiple people rather than use any one person for reference. Unless you're doing a portrait of that particular person, of course.

It's a friend of mine. I took a photo she gave me and added elements of that and elements of her avatar.

I did the same with this one. Worked my real life self and my avatar together:

Cool concept, the realism of the features is wonderful. The head just looks squished on top, by the forehead and crown. Her face is lopesided. The right eye brow should be closer to the bridge of the nose as far as I know. And her right eye can be raised or slanted downward left to right, so her head looks like a round body. Her lips also slant toward the right. Basically the right side of her head looks squished down, the other side is fine.

Anyways, ever try drawing just features to practice getting their forms down? This is a great one to use for reference.

In your drawing, you cut off the back of the skull with the hair. Be sure the hair follows the head rather than the other way around. Looks good though.

Keep working on it. I think with a bit more attention to your shadow shapes and maybe using more than one level of shadow and more than one level of light and the base color, this will work out well. Also, don't forget light source. Things look better when you can tell where the light is coming from. (Or at least get an indication.)
