I've noticed an unfair amount of favoritism for remakes...
I found the TMNT and He-Man remakes to much better than the originals.

athrins_wish i loved watching Mighty Max Normon Maxs guardian was so awsome he kicked BUTT!!!! Except for spiders. He really, really didn't like spiders. Or Rangoon. I'm still waiting for a DVD release. I wish. At least I videoed them back when Children's BBC used to show them, albeit in an awful order. I was impressed by the death count for a kids' cartoon - pretty sure BBC didn't actually watch what it was airing smile Skullmaster was a jolly convincing villain, too. DW

lady leko-chan my favorite childhood cartoon was My little Pony I know what you mean about anime being ruined by american licensing - Watching saiormoon, for example, in Japanese with English subs is liek watching a totally different show then watching it with the English dubbing. Found! 4laugh

I miss the good old saturday morning cartoons and disney afternoon. It was the only day i was allowed to spend in front of the t.v, ah it was great! now i try to watch the new cartoons for an hour and i feel like my brain has turned to mush sweatdrop . Honestly look at the garbage thats produced today and we wonder whats wrong with the new generation.

I'm only 21, so I don't know many of the old shows, but here's a list of all the great shows I can remember that are no more. X-Men (before they turned into teens), Pepper Ann, Mega-Man (before it was a computer game in "the real world"), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old one, not the newer series), Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego, Flint the Time Detective, Mighty Max, Sailor Moon, Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, Cubix, Reboot, and Freakazoid.

I remember the old X-men cartoon. Wolverine was much closer to his comic book portrayal.
Jem, oldschool TMNT, oldschool Transformers, He-Man, Biker Mice From Mars, Captain Bucky O'Hare, Conan the Barbarian, Mighty Max, Gargoyles, ah good times! smile
Heathcliff (The cartoon about the cats) anyone remember that?

For some reason my favorite nicktoon was Ahh! Real Monsters. Doug was watchable and ocasionaly entertaining, Ren and Stimpy had it's moments but just got meh. Rugrats I'd watch only if nothing else was on. I liked those old school fairy tale cartoons, David the Gnome, Seven Cities of Gold. (Though those might be older than 80's- 90's).
Cartoon Network had some win shows; Dexter, Samurai Jack, PPG.
Disney had some great afterschool shows, Ducktails, Darkwing, Rescue Rangers and Tale Spin.
I did like Gargoyles but found it to be a little too preachy at times, probably why I never like Captian Planet.
Loved the campy TMNT cartoon, Attack of the Killer Tomatos was a lot of fun, as was the Tick cartoon. I also enjoyed He-Man and She-Ra as well as Thundercats. Strangely I also like Jem and the Holgrams, Punky Brewster (animated and live action), My Little Pony and the Care Bears.
Loved the X-men and Batman cartoons and the Spider-Man was good too (Not too fond of the Avengers or Fantastic Four ones though, never really watched the Superman one).
I don't know if it's a drop in quality or just tastes but not much since then has appealed to me. I liked a few shows but there is one cartoon on these days I like and that's it. A little OT but it isn't like everything nowadays is horrible.
