Critical Acclaim is pretty good. I like Clairvoyant Disease, Beast and the Harlot, M.I.A.. Well, pretty much everything except the first album.
To be honest, though, they kinda spend too much time thinking about their image and not enough thinking about their music. Syn is a talented b***h with Dimebag as a major influence, and sometimes his talent is wasted in two-minute solos (M.I.A, anyone?) instead of constructing better riffs.

I quite like them, surprisingly. ^^ I'd never really swayed to that type of music before, but they kinda stuck on me.
Much prefer the newer, more melodious stuff to the shouting though.
And I think that "Shadows hurt his throat" thing was a myth. They'd always planned on singing more than shouting eventually. They've been slowly incorporating more and more of it into their albums.

Avenged Sevenfold is pretty damn good. My favorite album by them is Waking the Fallen and my favorite song would be "I Won't See You Tonight Part 2" of the same album.
