I'm not sure if this counts as a "path", but this is what I've been up to as of late. I've been applying my knowledge of occultism to the religion of my youth.

You can follow my musings here.

Here are some books that I've found particularly useful:

The LDS canon of scripture (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pear of Great Price)
Teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith
Journal of Discourses
Distinctive Teachings of the Restoration, by Wendell O. Rich
Early Mormonism and the Magic World View by D. Michael Quinn
The Great Secret, by Eliphas Levi
Sefer Yetzirah
The Zohar
Tao Te Ching
The Unfettered Mind, by Takuan Soho
Seizing Power, by Stephen Mace
Practical Guide to Psychic Self-Defense and Well-Being, by Melita Denning and Osborne Phillips
Postmodern Magic, by Patrick Dunn
Condensed Chaos, by Phil Hine
The Book of Results, by Ray Sherwin
Liber Null & Psychonaut, by Peter J. Carroll
Liber Kaos, by Peter J. Carroll
PsyberMagick, by Peter J. Carroll
The Paradigmal Pirate, by Joshua Wetzel

Have you had a chance to read any of the Gnostic gospels?

Just the Gospel of Thomas. My familiarity with Gnostic concepts is mostly through more modern traditions.

That is a good one.

I love how Yeshua murders his friend and brings him back to life. Riot!

There's a list floating around in the guild of the whole collection.

They make for an interesting insight that I think would be right up your alley.

I don't know. That seems more like Eteponge's thing. And while I'm happy to profit from other people's work in that area, my current focus is on practical magical techniques, chaos magic, eastern religions, and paradigm piracy.

"All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence." - Doctrine and Covenants 93:30

Translation:
"Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted."

Last I heard, Ete was heading into Eastern Religions himself.

However- the combination of Gnostic Insight and the Pre-Christian Mystical trads work wonderfully!

Just a thought...

Oh, I don't doubt it. It just seems that everyone is slobbering on that cookie, and I want my own.

That's not the Gospel of Thomas. That's the INFANCY Gospel of Thomas, and Largely not considered to be a Gnostic work, but more of a "nickle and Dime" story to satiate the thirst of early Christians for Stories about Yeshua.

What elements of the Sefer Yetzirah do you feel add particularly amazing insights into LDS theology?

This no longer reflects the path that I'm on.

A couple of years ago, I pirated the atheist paradigm, and it stuck. More recently, I joined the OTO, and am currently pirating Thelema. That's not to say I can't play with some Mormonism now and then, but it's not my focus anymore.

What exactly do you mean by "pirating"?

What exactly do you mean by "pirating"?
The intentional use of belief as a tool which creates a systematic, temporary orthodox paradigm, to be discarded when the tool is no longer useful.
