Man... i been diggin the newfie jive for a little while, and folk music is gainin a bit of favour to me... i know its weird but its just so happy.... and the drum beats ... are amazing... like honestly anyone know what i mean?

Personally i really like the song captain kidd.... anyone heard it....

I've been listening to Great Big Sea for a while now (they're from Newfoundland), and I'm quite in love with their music. Some of it's folk, some rock, some sea shanties, and all high-energy drumming and singing and playing. To see them live in concert is quite something...

Yep - Great Big Sea, Sons of Maxwell, Catie Curtis, Jeezum Crowe. They're all different flavors of folk music, and I like them all quite a bit.
