"I'm sure spending even more time with Black than you usually do would exhaust anyone," she teased. "But you know, knowing Potter, he doesn't have much reason to sleep in unless he sneaks out for midnight quidditch practice."

"He's funny and very caring. Everyone may think that Qudditich is the most important thing to James but really it's his friends. He doesn't want anyone he cares about being hurt or sad. I mean the way he looks after me around the full moons. He doesn't like to leave my side and nothing else sees to matter if someone he cares about needs him."

Lily nodded and fell silent, thinking about everything she'd ever said about or to James and how all of that contrasted with the person she'd gotten to know tonight. "Bloody hell," she sighed.

"Well not really hate. But like you felt about James. I thought he was annoying and kind of stuck up. Then one night I was feeling sad and he saw me in the common room and made me feel better and I started to fall in love with him."
