Lily leaned in towards James, her heart beat picking up. She was mere centimetres from kissing James when she jerked back. "Oh, no," she moaned. "I forgot about prefect duties! James, I'm sorry. I have to go."

James frowned. He was so close to kissing Lily. He nodded. "Ok I'll see you later then."

She sent him a desperate look, giving him one last chance for their first kiss before she started towards the doors to the entrance hall. "I'm really sorry, James."

James took her hand. "I'll walk with you to where you're meeting Remus."

Lily smiled and laced her fingers through James's. "Thank you. Um.. We're supposed to meet on the fifth floor in front of the teachers' lounge."

James smiled in return. "Ok." James was really happy about the fact that he had made such a big step with Lily today. He gave her a kiss on the check. "I'm really glad you sat with me tonight and gave me a chance."

"Thank Remus for that. He's the one who convinced me to sit with you. I had every intention of playing the irritated but supportive friend."

"I deffinately will. I was thinking tons of chocolate." He smiled.

Remus smiled when he saw Lily and James walking hand in hand. "You two have a nice dinner?"

Lily nodded, a slight blush tinting her cheeks. "Yeah. We... We got caught up talking and lost track of the time. I'm sorry I'm late."

"Yeah it was nice. Thanks for inviting her to dinner Moony." He smiled at Lily. "I really did have a nice time." He kissed her hand. "I'll see you soon." James left so they could start their prefect's duty.

"It's ok." He smiled when James left. "So what did you guys talk about?"

Lily blushed and giggled as James walked away, then shrugged. "Nothing really. We talked about what we liked to do on our time off, and I offered to show him some muggle activities."

"Well you seem like you don't hate him anymore. Does this mean we should expect little Lily's and James's? I think I'd really like being uncly Remy." He smirked.

Lily blushed and pushed Remus playfully. "Don't say things like that, Remus. It's embarrassing. And I never hated him. He just irritated me because of the way he treats people."

"Ok. Well you seem like you enjoy his company now. But are you two dating?"

"I don't know. I think he'll have to sit at the Ravenclaw table in the morning. Alice and Jen are going to want to meet him. I mean, actually meet him. I don't think that means we're dating, though."
