Iago took the lavender, a little smaller than usual but still very beautiful, and gently tucked it behind Evie's ear, weaving the stem into her hair a little so it would be secured. "Open your eyes." he said with a smile, knowing she could feel the flower there. First, before she reached for it, he handed her the rose. "Watch out for the thorns." he cautioned, smiling.

εviε Evie had felt something being tucked behind her ear as well as Iago's fingers weaving something into her fine hair. When he had told her to open her eyes, she immediately snapped them open to see a beautiful pink rose presented to her from her beloved Iago. Her eyes glittered happily, as if they had been replaced by true emeralds as she took the rose from him and smelled the delicately sweet flower. There was also one in her hair, a light lavender color to contrast the soft pink. Evie looked to the vendor who looked away with a faint blush on his cheeks and smiled to him before smiling at her dearest Iago.
"Oh.....thank you Iago. You shouldn't have though....they're beautiful of course but you needn't buy me things." Evie reached up to kiss him gently, her fingertips brushing gently across his cheek.
"You are all I need." Evie smiled, a certain unnameable glow about her.

Iago smiled brightly when she kissed him. "I know I don't need to buy you anything, but I want to." he said truthfully. He thought she looked like a beautiful, innocent young woman with the flower in her hair, and the rose made them look like any other young couple out for a walk. That, and he thought they'd make great gifts for her.
He looked right into her eyes, smiling brightly still. She was almost glowing with happiness. He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

εviε Evie smiled and hugged her Iago to the best of her ability, her head rested gently against his chest, careful to avoid bruising the rose as she did so. If ever there were a perfect fairytale, it was of their lives togeter.
"I love you...they really are beautiful." Evie smiled softly, her eyes downcast as she looked at the delicate flower in her hands.

Iago smiled, happy that he could make her this happy. "I love you too." he whispered, looking at the flower as well. "Want to make a quick stop back at the castle, so we can put that in a vase?" he asked, talking about the rose. He didn't want to see it wilt.

εviε The young woman felt like a Princess holding the beautiful rose in her hands. She hadn't ever been given flowers before so it was a surprise when Iago had given her one as beautiful as the one she was holding. She wouldn't stop smiling as she looked at it in her hands. Iago had mentioned putting it in a vase and she agreed vehemently, she didn't want her first rose to wilt on her. Evie broke away from Iago for a second and went to thank the vendor for the flowers. He merely blushed and waved her along with a smile. Evie walked away, still smiling brightly as she laced her fingers with Iago's again.
"Just a quick trip back....I like being able to go out publicly with you." Evie smiled but felt a blush tinge her cheeks.
"Im beginning to feel spoiled."

Iago couldn't help but smile, seeing Evie smile. He kissed her quickly on the cheek when she spoke.
"You're not spoiled...you just have a boyfriend who loves you very much, and happens to have a good bit of his own money to spend on little things for the love of his life." he explained.

εviε The blush only brightened on the apples of Evie's cheek. He did have money to spend on her...riches that she could never match.
"And I have nothing to give you in return..." Evie frowned, then reached into her pocket. She pulled out an emerald about the size of a large pea.
"It once was fixed into a ring a very long time ago but has broken over the years. It's been in my family for a very long time, passed down through the women of various generations. I know it's nothing compares to what you have but....at least it is something in return." Evie smiled, took Iago's hand and placed the little jewel in his hand.

"Evie, you kn-" Iago began. She didn't have to do anything for him...just the fact that she was with him, and that she loved him, was good enough.
He listened to the story and looked at the emerald. It was beautiful, for such a small stone.
"Evie...it's beautiful, but you know you don't have to give me anything in return...just the fact that you love me and are with me now is enough." he said softly, looking into her eyes. He couldn't help but smile, noticing her eyes and the emerald were of almost the exact same shade.

εviε Evie frowned and closed Iago's hand over the little jewel she had placed in his palm. It meant a lot to her and she wanted the most important things she had to be together.
"You may not want anything but I want to give you something. You being with me is more than I deserve but I am grateful for it. All of it." Evie smiled and kissed Iago gently on the cheek.

Iago smiled and nodded. He thought she deserved everything she had gotten and more, but he knew she would never agree to that.
"Then...I thank you, from the bottom of my heart." he said. He would have to get it set in something...maybe a new ring, or a pendant for him to wear. He placed the gem in a small inner pocket, to keep it safe, and smiled brightly, kissing her back, this time on the lips. He then took Evie's hand and led her back to the castle.

εviε Evie smiled when Iago kissed her very gently on the lips. The emerald she had given him had been safely put away in a pocket and she found no reason to stop smiling. Evie laced her fingers through Iago's and walked along with him back to the castle so that she could get her rose into some water. Evie couldn't stop smiling as she looked at the delicate thing in her hand. It was just so....beautiful. She smelled it once more and found herself intoxicated.
"Thank you so much Iago." Evie said again, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

Iago smiled. "You're most welcome. And thank you, for everything." he said, squeezing her hand back.
After a few minutes in the castle, he located a vase and some water, and brought it to their room. As they were putting the rose away, an idea came to him. "Evie...this may sound a little weird, but can you stand with your back to me for a second?" he asked.

εviε With a very questioning, quizical stare, Evie turned around and faced away from him. Her back was towards him and she had no idea what he had in mind. Iago could be creative and unpredictable at times.
"What are you up to love?" Evie wondered aloud, still faced away from him.

"Well, I just realized it's been a while since I saw your back." Iago began, beginning to undo the back of her dress. "I just want to see how your back is healing, while we're up here and I'm thinking of it." he explained, gently opening the back of her dress and exposing her back to him. He smiled. The scars were almost completely gone. Only a few faint pink marks remained. "Within a day or two, there should be no sign of them at all." he assured her, doing her dress back up.
