Rider came away with the quaffle in her hand, smiling as she realized she was going to earn that position. As she flew away, she shouted, "It was a nice catch though!" Didn't want to break the girl's spirit at the first moment of try-outs. She turned towards "Black Team's" goal, knowing she'd have to fend off the older student as well as the younger ones. Time to score though!

Lionel couldn't help but smile when Zeph commented on his seriousness. Looking over at his friend, he spoke. "Hey man, I had fun last year playing the games. So I really want to make the first string again so I can play some more," he said enthusiastically. And despite Zeph's words, he actually joined him in doing a set of his own stretches. "See! You are serious too." He said this in jest of course, continuing his little stretch routine until Cathy had called them over to get everything started. Looking to Zeph, Leo nodded at him. "Good luck."
He walked over to Cathy, listening to their captain start the tryouts. His competition was Emily again. The girl had beat him out the last year, but she had missed the games during the season. But...this year he was determined to prove that he had gotten better. He had done some football goalie training in his backyard with his father to try and compensate for his lack of ability to go flying. He couldn't go flying where he left because he was too exposed to muggles. He couldn't risk it.
When Cathy finished, he looked to his team members. A new girl named Siobhan and a girl named Iris, with Jasper and Harper as the beaters. That meant Zeph was on the other team. He would have to guard against Rider and Emma, one of them being one of the chasers of the previous year. He embraced the challenge. He couldn't wait for it. And with that, he rose into the air and zoomed off to the goalpost he was to guard.

Annabelle listened carefully as the teams were picked but she wasn't placed on one. She was about to go against the other two experienced players to see who could catch the snitch first. With a slight hesitation the young girl took to the air. If she did her best maybe she'd make the reserve team.

Alice hadn't found the snitch yet but that didn't mean she wasn't about to find it. Scanning the field she doubted anyone else had found it yet so she was still in good standing. Keeping her eyes peeled, Alice kept an eye out for the golden ball. Hopefully she'd find it soon.

Jasper listened to Cathy's instructions before taking to the sky. He had a team to protect and that's what he was going to do during tryouts. Hovering in the air he waited until Rider got her hands on the quaffle. Taking aim he swung at one of the bludgers hoping to send it right at her. If he could hit Rider it would make it easier for his team to get the ball back. At least it sounded good in theory.

Chase nodded her head as she was assigned to Yellow Team and took off into the air on her broom. She twirled her bat in her hand and looked around for a target and a bludger. She spotted a bludger and grinned, taking off towards it. She glanced around until she spotted Jasper, beater for the Black Team today. She grinned and aimed at him.

She was deftly dodging the other chasers at try-outs when she felt a bludger crash into her side. It nearly knocked the air from her, but Rider kept her hold on the ball. She looked to the source of the attack and saw Jasper, so she playfully stuck her tongue out at him. No hard feelings, after all. She turned her attention back towards Lionel, getting ready to take her shot.

Her first shot missed, but she just shrugged it off and looked around. Normally she'd go for seekers but they weren't allowed in try outs so she figured she'd go after the Black Team Keeper, Lionel. She swung hard.
