Location: Pitch - Hufflepuff Try-outs
Alice heard Elsie call for a time out and she stopped. She'd lost sight of the snitch anyways so she might as well. Touching down on the ground Alice grabbed a drink and stared at the ground a little discouraged. Usually these things didn't bother her but she was taking over for Jess and she felt like she was letting her down. Sitting down for a minute Alice didn't know what she was going to do if she couldn't catch the snitch in a real game situation.
Jasper stopped and landed when Elsie called out to them. He wasn't having a good hitting streak himself but he did manage to hit Cathy at least. Listening to Elsie's announcement on a break, he took a bottle of water and then walked over to Alice. He'd admit Zephyros was doing well for a first time but right now it looked like Alice needed a boost. "You doing okay Alice?" he asked taking a seat next to her on the ground. "I'm fine Jazz." she answered not even looking up at him. "Don't worry about it, you will catch it. Just don't give up." He told her as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "I won't." she said looking up at him with a slight smile.

Elsie didn't stop anyone from going back to what they'd previously been doing- she wasn't going to force them to sit any longer than they wanted to, but she knew the keepers weren't exactly getting a lot of practice in. She sighed, then hovered in the air on her broomstick. "Chasers! Beaters! Keepers! Okay, I know you guys are probably sick of the back and forth, and the keepers are probably sick of just sitting in the goal posts. Here's what we're going to do. I want the chasers to have a chance to practice scoring. Cathy, I want you to take the quaffle and aim at the goal Emily's guarding. Rider-," she tossed the younger chaser another red ball. "I want you to take the spare quaffle and aim at the goal Lionel's guarding." She looked to the beaters. "You two can lay off the chasers for now and practice on the targets." She left the seekers to their seeking, and went back to taking notes on how things were panning out.

Rider didn't want to say it out loud, but she had to admit she was happy when Elsie told the beaters to focus on targets, rather than the Chasers. Despite the potion, her body still hurt. She was definitely going to have bruises. With a sigh, she mounted her broom and took the extra quaffle that Elsie offered her. Turning to the first year, she nodded. Then she moved to shoot at the hoops.

Lionel had taken to the skies, glad that he would get to see a shot. And boy did it come quickly. It caught them that the girl started so quickly. He had just gotten on his broom and back in front of the posts by the time he realized that the girl was going to shoot. But still, he prepared himself for it, ready to take on his first shot, trying to read everything like he would do in football.
The boy felt the quaffle hit into his palms and he caught it pretty well to say the least. Wow...he saved his first shot against ever. It made him feel a little good about himself even. Of course, he wouldn't grow too full of himself because it just was one shot. Throwing the quaffle back to Rider, he readied himself for the next shot.

With Jasper's encouragement Alice got up off the ground and got back into the air. Trying to keep a smile on her face she started looking for the snitch again. Hopefully this time she'd have better luck. However her spirits were a little dim since failing to catch the snitch in the first half of tryouts.
After helping Alice Jasper listened to Elsie's plans. They seemed simple enough, aim at targets. If anything he could maybe get a few good hits in that way as well. Any way that Jasper could get practice he'd do it. He'd practically been practicing all summer. Regardless the sixth year took a swing at a bludger and aimed for one of the targets.

Cathy nodded to Rider who said the bludgers hurt, taking her own potion to heal up after she landed. She nodded at Elsie's change up in having Rider and her test the keepers keeping abilities and said, "Right," as she took to the sky and lined up her quaffle with the goal posts Emily was guarding and took aim.
