Okay heres the deal. Things like this happen a lot, and many people find them entertaining. Personally, i thought it was rubbish but others will dissagree. If it was actually funny, it would be okay. You have to remember one thing though- we live in a controversial world where people get their feelings hurt every day. Yes, i am an avid MCR fan but please people, dont be so selfish. Consider the people who go through hell everyday. Homeless people, drug addicts, people starving in 'third world' countries, workers on MadTV (lol). No seriously guys-plz read and consider my suprisingly profound words! biggrin

This clip is fxcking hilarious. You know it's great.
Really, the guy was begging to be mocked and MadTV spoofs so many bands and people that eventually, since MCR has gotten bigger, it was inevitable. So really, try to think of it like a Weird Al spoof. Being mocked like that just shows that you're recognizable.

When you go...Skimming through the topic, I'm pretty surprised by the number of people who seem to be taking it personally.
Some of you need to step back and calm down.
It was a sketch on MadTV, not a freaking attack on the band. ...Would you even turn to say?

I agree with Refresh. I at first I was like, "Those fxxkers who made this can go rot in hell." DD:< Yea, I'm still sorta mad that they had to get an ugly fat guy for Gerard, but what do you expect. It's MadTV, they make fun of almost anything, and they must've gotten permision from MCR for doing that, or else they could get sued.

Well, I do love MadTV{I LOVE their Lorraine and Stuart skits}, but I didn't love this parody so much the first time I saw it. The second time I saw it and actually listened...it was pretty funny.
Now I don't see why people hate it so much, MadTV does this kind of thing for like, everybody...

that is very rude.
so MADtv had a reason to make a sketch about that.
and that was when "WTTBP" became such a huge hit.
and MADtv didn`t mean to make "gerard" fat.
the guy who played gerard was willing to do it.
he was also a fan of MCR.
and MADtv makes fun of.. well everyone.
from Britney Spears
to Dixie Chicks.
you name it!
one thing i know,
it was not meant to offend MCR or its fans.
(because they already know how much i/we love them)
it was meant to tell the story of Michael Richards.

In retrospect, I also find all the "ZMGSH THEY MADE GERAD FAT!" comments a little disturbing. I mean, would you not like Gerard if he was fat? Is there something about fat people that disturbs you? Or is there something about your hero being portrayed as less-than-perfect that you find offensive.
Don't get me wrong, I love the band and I have immense respect for each member, but I really think there's something much deeper than, "this was a bad sketch" going on here.

In my opinion just leave them be I mean god they were just using the video as a vehicle to make fun off someone, and the were just having some harmless fun. and really just think about what the guys would think, they'd just laugh their a$$es off from watching it, and at least they and some other people have humor. Just think about it...
