I think the idea of the kid is cute, but do I really wanna see my favorite bishie fat, sweaty, eating pickles and ice cream and shitting a baby? gonk
I can actually really enjoy one, as long as they have a damn good "blow me away" explanation. I mean, they have to basically create a womb out of nothing, rearrange the boy's insides to accomadate the womb, rearrange the boy's bones so the weight of the baby won't crack his narrow hips, find a way for the boy's body to nourish the baby, and then find a way to birth the baby (usually C-section) without harming the boy.

Theoretically, it's possible for a man to carry a baby. I didn't say get pregnant, we all know that ain't happening unless it's a really masculine woman. (Or a transgender that got knocked up before their parts got rearranged. In that case, while physically a woman, I'd still consider the person a man, but that's an entirely different sitch, isn't it?)
Now, according to this book I read (and should really go find again) if you can find a guy willing to have a fetus placed in him, then there's some organ or another that a fetus has a good chance of attaching to/drawing nutrition from. So, yeah, theoretically a man can be pregnant, provided he's willing to undergo a crapload of surgery. Or, if you're for major science fiction, is experimented upon by a mad scientist. Which would be a pretty good read, if written correctly. Heh.
As for m-preg, I'm not for or against it. I go reading fanfiction pretty much expecting some natural law or another to be violated. I'm in it for the escapism. Just make it make plot sense, please.

It's just....no fun to read, unless the author is extremely convincing.

I'll read a fanfiction on it if it's really well written and not TOO out there, but for the most part, no. No, I do not like mpreg.

I think m-preg is wrong simply because men don't have the requisite parts to make babies...

I don't really care for it...though the idea of the couple having a child is cute and all....I guess I'm just more cinflicted on that sort of thing. I don't go looking for it.
However if there's hermaphrodite that appears as a male, then I'm fine with that, because it makes sense. *shrugs*

I now like mpreg a lot, as long as:
A: One or both parties are like, alien. And who knows what their reproductive organs are like.
OR
B: One or both parties has been affected by science/magic, thus causing a shift in the reproductive structures.
Mpreg with no reason behind it, that's just weird.

I like it. I've read some that were really, really stupid, but most of the others I've read are very well written, and they almost make it seem normal for a guy to get pregnant. The one's I've read were never actually finished though, so I'm not sure how the guy would actually have the baby. C-section most likely, but how fun is that to write about? *shrugs*

It has to be written right, if they just do the, 'Oh I'm pregnant' and they never really explain HOW or WHY they got pregnant I stop reading as it has to make since. If your a Harry potter fan there's a story called Indago that's really good, that did a good job at it. There's a Pg-13 version at Fanfiction.net very good story.

I think if done correctly and it fits the story then Mpreg can be great. One manga that comes to mind with a big mpreg theme is Sex Pistols. The way the manga-ka went into deal showning how the men could great pregnant made using it in the story even better. i have yet to read a mpreg story that didn't make sence unless it was crack stoty.

Folken Lacour de Fanel I think m-preg is wrong simply because men don't have the requisite parts to make babies... Some people would say being 'gay' is wrong because another boy doesn't have the facilities ('the natural ones') to have intercourse as a bottom. =P Besides, this is all fantasy. Some people would say Lord of the Rings is -wrong- because elves don't really exist =P

Some people would say Lord of the Rings is -wrong- because elves don't really exist =P I agree. But you still have to have suspension of disbelief, otherwise the story simply won't work. Therefore some kind of explanation or reasoning and plenty of scatological details are necessary. I like mpreg, provided said suspension of disbelief is present. Otherwise, it's just crappy, and I don't much care for crappyness, mpreg or otherwise.
