Joiewe I'm from South Africa. I live on a farm in a beautiful part of SA, i.e. at the foothills of our big mountain range called the Drakensberg (meaning dragon's mountains). Believe it or not, we get snow here in winter, and sometimes even get snowed in. It's a hard life here, but the beauty makes up for it all and I wouldnt swop it for anything! I would love to see that, you make it sound wonderful.

It is always so much fun to come in here and see so many people from so many different places. While kids today seem to take for granted talking to someone from countries so far from their own, it wasn't so long ago when some of us would never have believed it possible.
The internet, while it has it's seedier side, has given us a gift for finding out that, while our respective governments have frequently painted negative pictures of other countries, the "real" people from these places are not quite so different from each other - mostly loving and caring human beings who understand and share the sorrows and joys we all experience. Kinda makes it feel like a smaller world and adds hope to the thought that someday we can live in peace with each other... yes, tis sappy and sentimental ~ but I tend to look for the bright side of life.

I'm from no where, although I live in Gainesville, Texas. I moved a lot while I was a kid so I do not have a home town. My home is where ever my kids and husband are.

Very true. My grandfather taught me that for the most part, people every where are the same. They want themselves and their families to safe, and warm, and well fed... and to be happy. Nationality, race, religion only matter (in a negative way) as much as we let them.

I was born and raised in Michigan.
I've also lived in Fort Collins, CO and Rockford, IL before having my sorry arse dragged back home by my bestest guy friend. He decided my living in a one bedroom apartment in the seedy part of town living off pepsi and cigarettes just wasn't acceptable. redface

Lil Brat Kumahachi Lil Brat WA State... and no, not Seattle *wishes they'd hurry up and make that city/county it's own damn state.* Seattle, Washington. crying Awww ~ I'm sorry... it's just that when you say WA everyone immediately assumes Seattle as if that's all there is to our little state. emo No need to apologize. wink I know what you mean. What irks me more though is when I say I'm from Washington and people assume I'm talking about D.C. domokun I like D.C. however, being a Poli Sci major and now working in law. mrgreen (Kisa a.k.a. Kumahachi ninja )
