I don't really hate anything in yaoi. I hate what a lot of fangirls/boys ASSUME about yaoi. Like how a seme is supposed to be ULTRA MACHO. They have to be gruff, and tough on the outside, usually an ice-king/queen. And a**l about things. On the flipside, with ukes, they must be cute, and emotionaly, and cry a lot. They must "see through the facade that their semes put up." stare Yeah. That irritates me.

It's not about what you hate in yaoi, it's a pet peeve, something that annoys you and those are your pet peeves about yaoi.

Anyway, most of those stereotypes originate in yaoi manga and anime, they're put out there by the mangaka themselves. Fans just pick up on them and stick with them because they think that's how it's done.

My pet peeve for Yaoi would have to be corny music. I'm not sure if Gravitation is exactly classified as Yaoi, but in the anime, the music was SOO corny. Whenever Shuichi and Yuki kissed in the first few episodes, ope! There we go with the corny music again. It totally ruined the moment, instead of it being beautiful, it was more like silly or even humorous. I've only watched three episodes of the anime, the music totally ruined it for me.

I'd have to say the lack of story would have to be my bigest pet peeve for yaoi. I'm also not a big fan of shota that involves some one that's under the oge of 13, it's just plain scary to me. Non-con is also a big pet peeve for me.

Stories. Or rather, the lack of them. Empty shells of characters acting out in bleak, monotome enviroments where stereotypes are commonplace and any shred of creative writing apparently has been reduced to ashes and blown away by the wind. It shouldn't just be a straight line of uninteresting events (if even any events at all) that lead up to a poorly written love scene where the writer has used as few words as possible (it seems) to describe events and feelings. I want to be caught in a web of intrigues, well-written dialogue and interesting characters, not painfully move through a swampland of crap printed on paper.

YES. I've been noticing a lot of this lately.

It's those anime where all of the characters look like characters you've already seen a hundred times, in some enviroment that is completely uninteresting, in which nothing very exciting happens at all. But yet the characters fall in love in a slow, uninteresting way with just a few looks and a whole lot of sparkles/bubbles/ect.

Frankly, I'm sick of it gonk . GIVE ME A PLOT AND SOME GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

I dont like it when theres no story at the begining and just goes straight into 'the action' , I'll be sat there reading/watching and , first theres a bit of dialogue between two people , maybe a conversation and then suddenly they start getting it on , and im thinking , hang on who are you and who the hells he ?
I prefer if theres a bit of an introduction first ....

Or if like in level C , some guys is walking down the street or in a bar (which ever) and then he spots someone he thinks cute , and watch him for a while and then he'll go over and say , can I go back to your house or want to come to mine , then theyre in the house , theres a bit of resistance from the uke (as usual) and then theyre doing it ?

Its so annoying ...... ninja

some of the stories are to short or the just hint on the yaoi

My pet peeve is that all uke's are starting to be the same.
Girly, bubbly, naive, and somewhat annoying.
Uke's should have more than one personality!

Well I don't like rape where they fall in love later, as many people have stated.
I also don't like stories that are just written to be vile.
I don't mind graphic-ness, but when all they do is (how do I put this?) use very "brusk" words and language that is "unpoetically explicit" and call eachother things that I know I wouldn't want to be called, it just gets on my nerves.
Where's the love? crying

Anything that depeicts characters under 18... juuuust kinda makes me feel dirty looking at it... even if it's a passsing glance... and... I know it's a staple... but I hate when the uke is all... "nooooo" and the seme has to force himself... kinda not down with that... uke should just give in, y0. He knows he wants it. 3nodding
