[LOC] Lightseekers Settlement

After cleaning off the grit and dust of building a road, Tsarzi volunteered to do a small portion of crop care. She could feel her focus waning after earlier and knew she'd only accomplish a small bit. Still, all help was welcome and she would keep doing her part.

Tsarzi spent a few hours helping dig holes for the boards and stakes needed to set up the next greenhouse. The work was kept at a steady pace with a few breaks, but everyone was in rather good spirits as this looked like one of, if not the, last greenhouses that needed put up. After this, it was just moving supplies in and settling the plants.

Today for chores Tsarzi found herself helping to patch holes that had gotten punched in the starts of the lusus quarters. Having to sue the thing before it was really done probably wasn't helping the structure at all,
but it was necessary. Once the holes were taken care of, Tsarzi and a couple other set about adding some reinforcement to help keep things table and secure moving forward.

The pace had slowed a bit, many of the trolls wanting to rest a little bit with completion on the horizon. Tsarzi was of the opinion that everything ought to be finished first before any kind of relaxation, but she could understand wanting to rejuvenate a bit. She ended up getting distracted and becoming a part of a conversation over use of the greenhouses and what the highest priority ought to be and eventually prospective dietary and health standard of the settlement. It was largely a hypothetical talk, but an enjoyable one none the less.

Some of the older buildings, like the central outpost, was getting a bit worn and needed some upkeep. Tsarzi volunteered, doing some of the groundwork patching of walls and wood while listening to some techno classical remixes.

Selune had heard about the lightseekers settlement from her fellow rebels, and it had piqued her interest. A group of troll who just wanted to live life, make the world better, and help troll kind. What a perfect place to volunteer for! It was a community just for giving to others, just the thing Selune wanted to associate herself with. She was not exactly skilled in manual labor, but for the greenblood it was a good start.

Building Repair
Try as you might, you just can’t seem to work efficiently. Eventually someone steps in to help. “Hey, maybe you should change it up tomorrow night? Do something a little more relaxing for you.” (+1, you may pick your Minor Project next time instead of rolling for it if you wish!)

Se'lune saw another kid about her age working on a project, and so the greenblood decided to try and do the same. It was hard work tho, and Selune was defiantly having trouble. She tried to repair buildings like the blueblood she had watched, but was less then fruitful in her efforts. Panting, she approached the blueblood girl. "Wow, thats, way harder work than i thought it would be!" Selune said, catching her breath.

Just because the greenhouses were progressing remarkably didn't mean the whole Lightseekers setup was anywhere near ready. More to do, more to be built, so long as the work kept getting done then Tsarzi was satisfied. Back at the roads again, Tsarzi helped dig out the base for the path.

It seemed work was a little slow tonight, but there were enough trolls that it didn't seem it'd be a problem. Tsarzi was maybe drifting a little close to a pair of trolls discussing lucrative business ventures by the mainstream media and she might be listening in very intently as she waters just the stalks surrounding them and no further.

Tsarzi was dusting her hands off on the fabric around her waist when she was approached. The greenblood had been working with them on the minor repairs, but Tsarzi had been more focused on her own work to really take any notice of the kid beyond an idle glance to know they were there. Music was still playing from the headphones she'd pulled down around her neck, a layer of soothing white noise at this point.

Sounds like the greenblood was new to repair work if the way she was wheezing was anything to go by. That or she'd been doing some real heavy lifting to help with the repairs, but Tsarzi distinctly remembers the tasks right now specifically being wall patching so that didn't seem right.

"Most of the work that needs done is very hands on and a bit intensive. This is a large scale construction project, you shouldn't come at it assuming it'd be easy," Tsarzi said blandly as she gave the other kid a once over. "Not every day is going to be a big success. Any help is still help though."

Selune frowned at the blueblood's words. Someone was a little aggressive, the greenblood thought sulkily to herself. She decided to work on something different from the blueblood, somewhere not near her at all.

Se'lune had been dwelling on what the blueblood had said, and it was getting her pretty worked up. She decided to walk by the highblood's project and look at it with a sweet smile. She smiled up at the other girl's progress, making sure the blueblood saw her see her work. Then Selune went to work on her own project, and boy did she put her all into it. Even tho the girl was not exactly a fan on building repair, she repaired like mad. She also made sure to repair where the blueblood could see her, making sure the blueblood saw how much effort Selune put into her work. When finished, she walked by the other girl, and shrugged at the blueblood's wok. "Hey dont worry! Im sure you will do better tomorrow!" Selune said, a sickeningly sweet smile on her face.

Confident that she had one-upped the blueblood from the night before, Selune went to work. She really liked the idea of the disaster shelter, there was no telling when crazy natural disasters would strike, or for that matter, otherworldly disasters. The troll race did have a bad rep with alien relations...

Maybe it was because her pride was too big for her small body, but Selune went back and worked more on building repairs for tonight, again, even tho she was not exactly a fan of the work. Her stubborn attitude made her mother frown, but community service was community service, and Obachan could not be more proud of her little troll.

The greenbloods departure was met with indifference from Tsarzi. There wasn't much more of a conversation to be had off of that comment alone and she was perfectly fine with not having to entertain anyone else. The encounter was filed away with the rest of the experiences she'd had at the work site before she headed to the lusus quarters for, unsurprisingly, more construction work. At teh very least, walking away from the settlement at the end of the day Tsarzi will have a a very padded resume that now includes construction, road work, and tending to plant nurseries.

Tsarzi took about as much notice of the greenblood that approached her the other day as she did everything else in the camp. That is with an idle curiosity to take note of things before moving on. Maybe she took note of the improved effort with a note of approval, but otherwise, paid the kid little attention.

So when she was approached, again, she found an eyebrow slightly quirking but her expression remaining as unwelcoming ever.

"Why would I worry. I do what I can each day, and if sometimes it's more or less, then that's how it is," Tsarzi said, a bit skeptical of the other kid, but mostly resigned to the interaction. So long as the greenblood didn't eat up her time with idle chatter, she could spare a few words if it made her work better to have some interaction.

"Like I said, not every day is a success. You did better this time," Tsarzi noted,
giving a small nod to where she last recalled seeing the other kid work. Tsarzi could appreciated the improved effort. With that, Tsarzi ended the chat much the way it had ended before by simply walking off to continue working.

It seemed she once again would be starting in on making the place look presentable as she helped smooth the gravel paths and plot placements and set out markers for flowers and sidewalks to be laid down. Whether she was doing better or worse than before, Tsarzi had lost track of it a bit in amongst jsut working and continuing to work as much as she could.
