Sotnik was about ready to jump in the water and get the pokemon before they could come, with the rate those dual types were coming. He readied another attack as something pink emerged from the water, lashing it with another Vine Whip so fast it nearly tumbled back in and submerged. He had to move quick to grab a pokeball and throw it, nearly panicking, and relaxing when the pokemon was caught. He grabbed the ball out of the water, bringing it back to Deys and handing it over, then blinking and looking to the camp as he noticed Zak was packing up. “Come on,” their trainer called as he adjusted his bag, glancing back at them, Daeva on his shoulder, grinning over as well. “Ve should geet goeng. Zeese vater types are good, but zey are starting to geet repetitive. Ve need more variety.” Happy with the change in scenery, Sotnik hopped up, hurrying over as Deys sent the last pokemon to the PC, gathered up the remaining pokeballs, and joined them, handing Zakhav the pokedex and items.

The group made their way out of the forest and started on the trek to Eterna City. The walk through the woods, and now along the path, was taking them a while, despite their attempts to make it as quick and concise as possible. The sun was now lowered below the horizon, the last few rays of its light dancing over the sky. Lillipup had drawn his observation of the active pokeball to the sky, staring in awe, but then bounded off. Zakhav raised an eyebrow, watching him leave, but made no movement to stop him or go after him, and instead continued towards the city. Deysatnik followed, bot Sotnik slowed a bit, looking after the pokemon. He glanced tentatively after his trainer, then hurried to catch up. Lillipup was probably just going to fetch another item or something....

Zad no intention to stay here longer than was necessary. He sent the pokemon off to the room, giving Deys his bag, and headed off to go buy them all their food. Of course, he got them all healed, first, but he wanted to hurry, get everyone fed, and start working on his devices. He was pretty much out of time for one project, which was due, and now he needed to work on his communicator to try and see what he could get together while he waited for his parts. He needed to work on a few other things, too... This probably wasn't going to be a night of very much sleep. They needed an early start to try and cover ground, too, and he needed to double check where the first gym was. Just thinking about the laundry list of items made his head hurt, and he cursed in Russian under his breath, rubbing his temples. Not to mention he had to figure out what to do with those damn rotom...

With two bags of food in his hands, Zakhav headed up to the room, nodding in approval when he found the pokemon waiting for him. "I have deener," he announced, placing the bags on the table, and beginning to unload and hand out the food, "But after zeese, I vill be busy. You all cahn put yourselves to bed." He grabbed his food last, gesturing towards Deys and Sotnik. "You two are een charge," he added, grabbing his bag, and moving over to sit down on the floor by one of the beds, back up against the wall. He started pulling out his electronics, putting several things on the mattress, a few on the floor, on his lap, and all over, eating as he started working on putting some things together, and working on his laptop.

While the pokemon ate, Zakhav worked on his computer. He was just about done with his project-- about one hour before it was done, talk about cutting things close-- and had eaten about half his food. He needed to at least get started on prying his way into the PC system, too, and not to mention the fact that he hadn't even really started on rebuilding his communications device, which would be... fairly important for touching base on all of this. Luckily he still had some back up systems.
His pokemon fell asleep a little past midnight, but he was still working at a few different things. If he'd even hoped to get some free time to do the enjoyable things online, that hope was dashed now. He was starting to get tired, and-- with his fingers still on the keyboard, he promptly passed out, leaning against the side of the bed, snoozing soundly with his computer still on his lap.

Deys, who knew Zakhav's schedule and knew that he had intended to wake up early, stirred his trainer around six AM. With approximately two and a half hours under his belt, Zakhav jerked up, half awake and very much unfocused. He shook his head, muttering, in Russian, a thank you to his companion, and closing up his computer. He'd got the important things done last night, even if it hadn't been everything. He would have to work on the other things later, and he could at least try and fiddle with what he had for his communications device. He would pick up the other parts at Oreburgh, the next town over, where he'd ordered them to be sent.
Once he got everything-- and everyone-- together, and all but Deys, Daeva, and Sotnik in their pokeballs, he headed back down. To his great pleasure, he found that the first gym was, in fact, also in Oreburgh, which would make doubling back substantially less annoying. He gave a civil nod and thank you to Nurse Joy, before heading out, grinning to himself despite the obvious lack of sleep showing under his eyes.

Trekking back to Eterna City was not only a bit arduous but also tedious and annoying. Zakhav hated back and forth, but... at least he had a badge now. Considering this was a city with a gym, he was fairly sure he could find some trainers that he could train his pokemon further against-- or rather, let them somewhat train themselves, while he worked on his projects. Once they were strong enough, they could defeat the gym, too, and he could start looking up information on the third gym leader. Unfortunately... it didn't really look like he had as good a start as he would like. His pokemon's levels... well, with some training, they would be fine. But their movesets, and typing... The plus side was, considering that Zak strongly preferred water pokemon, was that going up against a grass type gym now meant there wouldn't be one later. The down side, of course, was... well, he mostly had water type. The other pokemon he had weren't fantastic against them. Daeva would be one of his best bets... so would Deys... and ironically enough, one of those Rotoms wouldn't be too bad, either. But he wasn't sure he was even willing to let them out of their pokeball, let alone start using them.

Rubbing his temples, Zakhav felt Daeva looked at him, then nudge his head a bit with hers, almost in a nuzzling or affectionate manner. He smirked, feeling some of the building frustration and stress ebb away, and opened his eyes, looking at her out of the corner of his eyes, the empty blackness looking back at him as he turned his hand to pet her, and scratch under her chin. Sotnik, who was walking on Zakhav's right, the opposite side Daeva was on, looked up at them, frowning a bit. He felt like a soldier sometimes, under Zakhav's command. Training was the top priority, aside from, maybe, staying fed. Food was usually more of a reward or 'when you have a moment between battles' kind of thing. He knew it was his job to be the strongest because he was his starter.... kinda... but still. Daeva wasn't really a baby anymore. He was pretty sure she was as big as she was going to get, and she was strong enough to take down some of the ghosts back at that creepy building. Apparently, though, Zakhav had some kind of 'parental bond' to her... because he certainly still treated her like a little princess.

Nearing Eterna City, Zakhav gave Daeva another gentle rub on her head, then pulled his attention away, striding off path and smoothly dropping down to take a seat, bringing his bag around. As he opened it, he looked to Sotnik and Dey. "You two take Daeva and ze uzzers to find sum trainers to battle," he instructed, bringing out his laptop. Daeva looked at him, her expression difficult to read-- and not just because of her odd features, "Sotnik, you are ze strongeest von, so make sure you are not defeated. Deys, you keep a vatch on zem." The two pokemon nodded, and Sotnik looked to Daeva, waiting for her to join them, while Deys moved over to help Zakhav release the other pokemon.
Daeva looked briefly at the two, but then to Zakhav, making a plaintive, but stubborn cry. He didn't take the bait, and brushed at her to knock her off her shoulder, uttering a single, "Go." She dropped to the ground, landing on her feet, frowning up at him. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "You need training, Dochka," he explained, offering a smirk, "Vatch zem, geet strong. Zen you cahn be een charge." She rose up a bit at the idea, and instantly seemed much more compliant, turning to slither over to Sotnik's side, waiting for the others to get gathered up and join. Sotnik glanced down at her, his expression carefully hiding the slight surprise. Well... huh.

While Zakhav focused in on his computer work, the group of pokemon set off. It was... odd? To say the least, but he'd given them... something to help assist in at least somewhat communicating. Sotnik and Deys lead the way, the Servine tentatively trying to take charge. His little leaf-like hands had a hard time holding the piece of paper, though, so Deys kept it curled in his fin. They actually managed to find a trainer after a bit, one who, upon looking at the note with, 'Our trainer wants us to train. Will you battle?' scribbled on it, actually accepted. The young woman seemed amused, but a bit sympathetic to the wandering pokemon's cause as well. She warned them that her pokemon might not be the most powerful, but she hoped they'd help them get the training their trainer wanted them to be doing, done.

Another water type, and Sotnik was able to take it out just as quickly. But while he was doing that, the other pokemon stood back, waiting. Deys looked around, then glanced down to Lillipup. "You--" He stopped when the pokemon practically leaped out of its skin, yipping a bit and jumping away, looking up with wide eyes. Once the pokemon seemed to have got its heart beating properly in its chest, he continued, as if nothing had happened. "You should go see what you can find. Theese pokemon are too strong for you, and Zakhav will appreciate the items," he suggested. Lillipup blinked, looking up at him, then at the pokemon Sotnik had defeated. He... was right. They weren't completely out of his league, but... he wouldn't really be able to stand many hits, and he couldn't K.O. them nearly as easy. Besides! Zakhav had... actually admitted he only really caught him for his ability to pick up items and give them to him, and he was holding out on his side of the deal-- he did feel stronger, having been traveling with them.

Giving a nod and yip of affirmation, Lillipup turned and bounded off. Deysatnik watched him go, then turned, bowing his head a bit as he watched the battle. So many water pokemon... as if Sotnik needed the training. Still, the grass pokemon was making good calls, for the most part. Deys' eyes narrowed a bit as he observed, noticing that, in response to realizing the pokemon was water-ground, Sotnik changed to his weaker grass type move. A very... sympathetic adjustment. He wasn't sure whether to call him on it or not. Zakhav was... not cruel, but he was not caring, either. He didn't like to take chances-- the two of them had gotten careless on a few battles and it taught them both to neither underestimate their opponent nor overestimate themselves. Sometimes, letting someone get another turn, even by the skin of their teeth, could spell disaster...

While the other pokemon all were coming to a conclusion they'd unknowingly challenged a water pokemon trainer-- much to all of their mutual displeasure-- Lillipup was scavenging around. He knew that Zakhav had really liked some of those heart thingies he'd found, but he wanted to see what else he could collect. He bounded around a bit, his nose twitching, catching scent of something. He turned, took two steps, and tripped over something, falling face first into something hard. He fell back, shaking his head, and whined, rubbing at his bruised nose. He looked down, though, to find what looked like an item, similar to one he'd found before. He quickly scooped it up between his teeth and turned, bounding back. He could give this to Zak, then come back and see what that smell was!

Lillipup bounded his way back to his trainer, giving a muffled yip to warn him of his approach. Zakhav looked up, frowning, and narrowing his eyes at first, substantially slowing Lillipup's pace. The puppy pokemon slinked over some more, but perked up a bit as the edge lessened from his trainer's stare, his focus shifting specifically to the plate in his mouth. "Vat ees sat? Geeve eet to me," he instructed, waving for Lillipup to hurry and hand it over. The pokemon leaped the last few paces and gave it to him, his attention quickly diverting to something curious on his trainer's belt. His ears perked up and he wagged his haunches a little, but stopped as Zakhav's gaze snapped over to him again. "Vat?" he questioned, apparently having caught some of his behavior. Lillipup just quirked his head in response, and after a moment, Zakhav returned to what he was doing on the computer, the plate still held out a bit, signaling Lillipup wasn't quite free to leave yet.
And meanwhile, Sotnik was eagerly retreating to the group. That had been exhausting! He was relieved when their opponent sent out a pokemon that was so obviously not water. He wasn't really sure what it was, but apparently Deys was, as he nodded Totodile forward, and barked out an order. The maniacal little water pokemon danced forward, then chomped down, hard, on the pokemon's neck, ice coating his teeth and frost rolling off the two. He let go, leaping back, cheering with dark laughter as the pokemon immediately fell, unconscious from the single blow.

Zakhav finally smirked and lifted the plate up, then, put it in his bag, giving a nod to Lillipup. "Very good, Lillipup," he praised, giving a half smile to the pokemon, "Zose are plates. Bring any more you find to me. Zat von vill be good for Daeva vonce her exp share ees done, and any uzzers may be useful for ze uzzer pokemon. You can go back to looking." He made a dismissive gesture but, as he did, reached over, patting the pokemon on the head. The quizzical puppy perked up at the praise and pet, then turned and bounded off, eager to find the source of that smell he'd picked up on earlier. And maybe he'd poke in and see how the other pokemon were doing with all their battling, too...
