See, the most recent iteration of the "My Little Pony" show is actually a really good cartoon focusing on character development and interesting plots that encourage teamwork and friendship.


This of course, has led to it being enjoyed by far more than its target demographic. As in...guys like it too.



But see, guys are a little defensive when it comes to liking a "girls show", and feel that they need some sort of special fan nickname to separate themselves from the girls.


So they call themselves "Bronies" in a transparent move to masculinate watching a show about pink ponies with cutie marks.
