*Anouncement from the Deputy Headmistress*

All Heads should note
that they should keep an eye out for possible Prefects for next Term.
Since the there is such a small number of 4th years this term,
I suggest you plan to have only one,
but you may also pic out one or two second years to give the title of 'Junior Prefect'.
As they will be third years next term.
I'll ask for your Prefect nominations to start coming in on the 9th,
so that I may look into your nominations...

Also,
All teachers should note
that they will need to re-apply for their teaching positions after the 19th.
The Application riview process will begin on 31st,
so all applications will need to be in by the 30th.
So,
plan to come online for a few moments between the 19th and the 30th
so you can re-apply.
The Winter Term teaching postitions will be anounced on January 6th.

"So, let me get this straight. We can allow house elves to take one "magical academia" course while they are house elves (along with Cooking and Cleaning). And then if they turn in three homeworks from that class which are graded and given points for (to go in to a potential house), they are to be sorted early, as long as they meet the other requirements for sorting. Is that what I'm understanding?"

Yes, but it wont come into effect until next term...

Alright kids,
I'm going to be virtually inactive for a while now...
I might pop in from time to time...
But these will be short, few, and far between...
Or at least compared to my usual 24/7 active-ness...
You see, this week is finals week and I need to be studing hard...
and after that, I'm going home for 3 weeks for the holidays.
and when you only get to see your family a few times a year,
and your a girl who really loves her family (like I do)
then you're going to put them before Gaia...

I enrolled in all the classes I could and never had a late homework.

Arithmancy

I feel like the subject of Arithmancy is often rubbished. I also want to teach people about numbers and their magical properties.

*2 parts to the class
*Basic (Years 1-2), Higher (Years 3-4), OWL (Year 5).
*A study into the magical properties of 0 (Basic)
*Deeper study into the number 0, evil ideas (Higher)
*Did the Muggles ever grow suspicious of 0 and why? (OWL)

Okay, so we have to re-apply for teaching positions for the new term. Here is my application to have on record in this thread in the case that PM's get lost or accidentally unopened past the deadline. I am, of course, wishing to continue on as History of Magic professor. To everyone else: Have a Happy Holiday! biggrin

Re-Applying as a Professor at Hogwarts:

1. About how long have you been a part of the Guild? Since May 2005

3. Have you ever been enrolled in any other classes with this guild and were you diligent with the homework that was assigned to you? I was enrolled in other classes while I was a student before the Clean-Up began, and I was diligent with the homework assigned to me. I was diligent with the homework this term before I became a teacher, and then teaching became my top priority. I still plan on keeping up with homework in other classes as best as I can with teaching responsibilities to look after.

4. Class you are applying for: Re-applying to continue teaching History of Magic where I left off with the lectures and homeworks.

5. Professor's name and user name, so RP and otherwise (RP characters are welcomed, if not wanted but not required): Professor Demarest

6. Why you want to teach here at Hogwarts: I enjoyed teaching last term. I thought my lessons were exciting and intriguing.

7. What will class be like under your instruction? Can you give an example of what one of your lessons will look like? And perhaps how you think you will set up the class? (You can just give a brief description if you'd like) I conducted three separate courses as History of Magic professor. They were: Introduction to History of Magic, History of Magic I, and History of Magic II. My class is already set up, so that may be observed. I do wish to add picture to the opening, and now since I am home and on a better computer over the break, I may be able to do just that.

8. Can you give us any references? Someone who is part of the guild. (The more active and trusted, the better. And they better know they're your reference before you send in this application.) I think you all know who I am by now. If you really need the references, I will contact individual members of my class and other members of Hogwarts and will get their references.

9. What do you have that any other of the applying teachers don't have: Experience in the position now, as well as having almost completed (graduating) from college with a BA in History. I know my material well, and know how to make the lessons.

10. Anything else you would like to add: I feel most qualified for this position, and I believe that my students would like to continue with their knowledge of the course material. The course material has been arranged chronologically, and right now we are at about the 1500s/1600s. I would like to take the end the January-April term with material right from the present. With new members, and starting in January (not halfway through the term), I can complete more lessons.
