Some fanart for a cute little pet site called Rikopets. The site is relatively new with a small staff so there isn't much to do there yet except chat in the forums. The sute has gotton more active recently but I admit that the activity level is low for a site, but more so then the guild.
....The site really does have a lot of promise though! Wanna join? :3 My username on the site is Ella.

In total...I think this picture to me about 4-5 hours over the course of 2 days. x.x

...sad because I spend so long on my pictures? XD
My best pictures takes at least 2 to 3 hours in total to complete....usually longer.
I guess the more often you draw and push yourself to improve, the more amount of time you dedicate to drawing.

Thats the thing about art...it does take a long time depending on what your drawing, how much experience you have with drawing or working with the elements of the image, how detail your style is, and....how much of a stubborn perfectionist you are at the time. XD

Another reason it took so long is the step process:
-The sketch(which can be broken down into smaller steps)
-Inking over it for the final lines
-Adding color or in this case tones.

Theres also shading....but I admit that I don't spend as much time on that as I should.

You know what?
I reckon your picture looks besxt on 50 contrast, 0 brightness.
And I can still see it on 0 brightness, it isn't black.
