Seeing her groom smile Chione gave a small smile back, still a little nervous. As she walked she tried to take out the feeling with every step she took. When they arrived where everyone was gathered she stood opposite him, giving him a small nod as she waited for the ceremony to begin.

The elder looked at the young couple standing before him, then turned to address the audience, speaking in Arabic. Bomani translated in a low voice for Chione...basically talking about the beauty of two lives becoming one. He turned to Bomani and spoke some words, asking him if he would promise to always be there for his wife, always helping her if she needed it. He said the words "I promise" in Arabic, then translated while the elder asked the same words to Chione.
"Just say 'I Promise'." he whispered.

When the ceremony began, Chione realized that she couldn't understand what was going on, and thanked the gods that Bomani could tell her what was taking place. "I promise." She replied, looking in his eyes. For now and forever, she would uphold those words.

The elder looked at Bomani, not understanding Chione. But Bomani nodded, telling him that she had said the right words. The elder motioned into the crowd, and a young boy walked forward with a small wooden box. He held it up to the elder, who opened it, showing two simple, gold rings. Bomani took one of the rings and took Chione's hand, looking into her eyes. He slid the ring into place on her hand, then offered his for her to do the same.

Chione didn't mind that the rings were simple, gold bands. As a child, she had dreamed of having a grand wedding, but now that had changed. Taking the ring from the box and sliding it on Bomani's hand, she knew that as long as she was bound to him, nothing mattered.

The elder stepped back, smiling at the couple. Bomani stepped forward, taking her hands in his.
"Simple ceremony, isn't it?" he whispered, giving her a loving kiss on the lips that he held for a little while, during which time the crowd cheered for them. He was all smiles when he pulled away, looking into her eyes.
"I love you." he whispered.

Before Chione had the chance to respond to his question, Bomani had kissed her, causing her to kiss him back, her hands squeezing his slightly. When he pulled away she laughed a little. "Simple indeed." She chuckled, then kissed him on the cheek. "I love you, too." She whispered back.

The elder couldn't understand what they were saying, but waited until they finished to begin speaking again, saying that a feast in their honour was about to start. Bomani translated for Chione, then smiled.
"Come on." he said. "The bride and groom are usually the first there." he explained, leading her from the elder through a small path of people, near a group of tents set up. Inside were many long picnic-table like tables, simple and made of wood, where the food would be placed and where everyone would sit (well, most everyone. A lot of people would leave and eat outside, sitting in circles with their friends). The only difference was one table, where two large, rather ornate chairs, had been placed in a gap instead of where the bench usually was, for Bomani and Chione to sit.

Following Bomani's lead Chione picked up the skirt of the wedding gown, a smile on her face as they approached the tent. Seeing the setup of the feast her eyes widened. "Wow..." She breathed, impressed by the site as she recalled how much work the tribe had put into the celebration. Seeing the two chairs she looked to her husband. "I assume we get the places of honor?" She half-asked, half-stated. Taking a better look at the chairs, she realized that she had not seen them in the camp before and wondered where they had been the entire time sh had been living with Bomani and his family here.

Bomani nodded. "You guessed right." he said, leading her to the chairs, which were usually stored away in one of the storage tents, along with these tables. They were both usually brought out for feasts, with the chairs only used if the feast was in honour of someone, or a wedding.
He sat down next to her and smiled, while his family took their spots nearby on benches, and the other tables started to get filled. Within minutes, large platters of food were distributed to the tables, and everyone waited. Bomani looked at Chione. "They're waiting for us." he whispered. "It's a tradition here...we break this bit of bread, hook our arms together, and take a bite from the other person's hand." he said, holding up a small loaf of bread that was baked especially for the bride and groom.

"Alright." Chione whispered back. She lifted her hand, taking the other end of the bread Bomani held up. "Ready?" She asked, a small grin on her face.

((Sorry, have to go to dinner for a bit really soon.))

Bomani smiled. "Yep." he said, pulling back until the bread broke in half. He smiled, then held his arm out. All she needed to do was hook her elbow against his, and then they would take a bite from each other's piece.

[Alright ^^]

((Sorry, something came up. crying ))

Bringing her arm so that it hooked around his, Chione offered her piece of bread for him to take a bite from. She could feel the eyes of the tribe on both of them, but she didn't mind.

[No worries ^^]
-----
Bomani looked into her eyes, smiling. He leaned forward and took a bite from her piece of bread, and when Chione had taken hers, the rest of the tribe clapped and cheered for them. He smiled brightly and unhooked his arm from hers.

Chewing on her piece of bread Chione couldn't help but let a small smile show. "What's next?" She asked, wondering what the feast consisted of other than a grand amount of food. Now that the formal part of the ceremony was over, she began to relax.
