Meena watched and waved as Meleanie left and said goodbye to Brian after Meleanie left. As she headed down a path to God knows where, she thought to herself, 'Well, looks like I'm alone...AGAIN. I always seem to end up alone like this, and I have no idea why.'

[Enter Kale and Leafmon from Digi-Jungle (East)]

"Awesome!," Kale exclaimed as he and Leafmon walked into the open fields of Toy and Tama Town. After a few hours of seeing the same kinds of trees, a change of scenery was welcomed but they first had to go through an opening. At the entrance seemed to be a large Digimon that looked like a....cherry tree? "Hey, Leafmon. Is that tree over there a Digimon as well?,Kale whispered down to Leafmon who was still in Kale's arms. Leafmon looked up at Kale with a smile. "Of course that is a Digimon. It's Cherrymon! He's the protector and guardian of Toy and Tama Town. Really?! That explains everything." They walked by Cherrymon, Kale briefly looking up to stare in awe of the huge Digimon. Once in town, Kale and Leafmon wandered around the open fields they had seen from the borders of the Digi-Jungle, watching but not disturbing all of the care-taking Digimon. They were slightly hoping some other tamers were around so they could ask where else they could go.

Kale slowly walked across a path to check out the other fields.Just then, a girl bumped into him from the side, knocking him over on his back. He dropped Leafmon and his yellow D-3 onto the ground near Leafmon. "Oww!," he said, rubbing his head. He looked around, finding Leafmon. "Hey Leafmon, you ok? Yes, Kale. No need to worry about me at all! I'm tougher than you think," replied Leafmon as he scooped up the D-3 on his leaf and bounced over to Kale. Kale put the D-3 back into his pocket and looked up at the girl who he had run into. "No, no. It's ok. Accidents happen, right? So, what's your name? I'm Kale Gantley and this is Leafmon. Hi there! I'm Kale's Digimon partner. Where's your Digimon?

"My name's Meena Koiyuki," she said and reached into her bag and pulled out a small, fuzzy creature,"And this is Salamon." Salamon yawned and said sleepily, "Nice to meet you..."Then, someone flew toward their direction and gave a strange greeting. "Well, I know I'm new."

Ikkuya laughed. "No, we can't, and no, they don't exist. Name's Ikkuya Nagamo, or just Ikki. It was his idea to ID you two." He pointed at Kamina.
The Veemon immediatly shot a death glare at Ikkuya, which was met by Ikkuya's glare. They sat there for a second, until Kamina lost the contest and hobbled over to Ikkuya's side. "I'm Veemon, or as he calls me, Kamina." "This is our little temporary home until everything gets settled." An odd looking digimon poked it's head around the corner of a house, but grew a distasteful look when it's eyes locked on Ikkuya. It soon went away. "The count of brave digimon around here and in the forest has increased, and we were asked to help guard this town and the digieggs until this little spike subsides. The head guy likes us, but the rest of them... I dono..." "They don't want us here simply because of his age. He's just turning seventeen, and the residents here don't like having a primary rule bent for our sake alone." "But the Head guy we were techniquely allowed here, so everything's cool as far as I can see. We crash in the jungle, when they scream for help, we come in to save the day. They throw us out, rinse and repeat. They're appeased and our personal space bubble isn't encroached on... so, what brings ya here?"

Ikkuya was taken back a little by the request and sighed as his head sunk. "We're far from 'Heroes'. We're more like 'Middle Men'. As for you job... if you can come here, then you only have one job: preservation. We're labeled as Tamers because of our nack for finding Digimon and forming bonds with them. Heck, sometimes them and us become like brothers and sisters, but it's not our job to find every virus there is in this world and defeat the 'Evil Guy', because there's no such thing as good, nor evil. There only is 'It'. We give labels to those that act differently. I mean, look at me, I know what I said, but I really shouldn't be here. Those other digimon that give me the stink eye would have already tried to push me outa here a long time ago, but they know I'd fight them, with or without Kamina, and would probably beat them. I would fight so I can protect the Digieggs, nothing more." Kamina looked up at Ikkuya in wonder. Apparently, this was the first time Kamina ever saw Ikkuya this mellow, and this kind of explination. He didn't sugar-coat his speaking, this the Veemon knew, but this was going kind of overboard. Kamina had to break the tension his friend created. "But... we will help you learn what you need to to survive incase you meet someone hostile, right?" Ikkuya hesitated, but nodded. Yea, I guess. Never was a good teacher, but we can try. Where and when?"

"I don't think anyone would attack mid-day, and I wouldn't want missy here to be left all alone, so how about right here and now?" Kamina actually agreed with him for once. "Now, to get the questionare out the way: How far has Leafmon gotten, evolution wise, and have you met any nasties out here?"
