εviε Evie blinked in surprise as he bolted down the path quicker than she could have responded. With a similar smile, Evie dug her heels into her own horses's sides and it shot off as well, gaining behind Iago. She laughed aloud, loving the wind blowing in her face, though she never forgot to keep her hands on the reins tightly...she was very prone to falling.

Iago smiled back at her, letting her catch up. However, his surprise start had the advantage, and by the time he could see the village gates, he was still in the lead. He slowed his horse down and smiled. "It was unfair, I know." he said.

εviε Evie slowed her horse down as well when she saw that Iago had for some reason. She looked out ahead and saw the gates to the neighboring village. Her heart couldn't help but jump in surprise and excitement...as well as anxiety. What if they couldn't help her? Evie shook her head and stopped beside Iago, a smile on her lips despite what she had been thinking.
"Very unfair." Evie chimed in, frowning in a mock sadness.

"Would a kiss make it better?" Iago teased with a bright smile to his lover, dismounting his horse. He'd walk it in to town, which would probably be the easier thing...plus he wanted to hold his Evie's hand while they did.
He was a little apprehensive...but if they couldn't help, then so be it. He would find another way. Evie was his, and he was Evie's....he would make it work.

εviε Evie followed Iago's lead and dismounted her horse as well. She took the reins and towed the horse behind her, catching up with Iago hurriedly. Her eyes took in everything, not much had changed since she had been there last.
"I'm nervous." Evie mumbled, blushing after admitting such a fact.

"Don't be." Iago said softly. He took her hand into his own, feeling the soft skin of her hand and the very slight callouses there...a feeling unique to his Evie.
"You've got me to help you out...just relax." he said, smiling at her as they walked through the gates of town without incident.

εviε Evie nodded and squeezed Iago's hand tightly to ease her nerves. That was the only problem really, her nerves acting up. Evie inhaled a deep breath and that seemed to make her feel better. When she looked up, the looming castle before them took shape and she could see the tall building clearly and remembered traveling to the village frequently. She smiled when she saw the buildings that looked similar still. The kingdom didn't remodel often and that made her rather happy. At least things still remained the same so she would know her way. As the pair walked through the streets, eyes made contact with them but everyone kept to their own business...Evie liked the level of inconspicuousness she had there.
"Alright then. I feel better." Evie sighed, happy that they were almost there. She was that much closer to marrying Iago.

Iago smiled, happy that he was walking in public, as Iago...with his Evie right by his side. Almost as if to show the world for the first time who he truly loved, he gave Evie a tender kiss on the cheek, for no real reason other than to show off a little.
"That's the spirit." he said softly, smiling.

εviε Evie couldn't help but smile brightly when Iago had kissed her on the cheek. She couldn't find a reason to make up for his kiss so she just let it be as it was....a random and spontaneous display of public affection. She couldn't help a return kiss on the cheek for him as well. Being out in the open with Iago, hand in hand and exchanging sweet little kisses on the cheek made everything seem okay. Nothing could go wrong for them. Ever.
"I love you." Evie smiled at him as they walked. The castle loomed closer and closer.

"And I love you." Iago said with a bright smile. It truly was perfect...he didn't care who saw him kiss her, or be kissed back. This was his lover, his perfect other half, and he didn't care who saw that...and if they reported him to Jocelyn by some very slim and random chance...so be it.
Faster crack at her, he figured.
The castle loomed ahead, looking vaguely familiar. "Why..." he mumbled to himself, then it hit him. "Oh, I know!" he said. "I was here before...as a very young boy, though." he said. About the same age he met Evie.

εviε Evie turned to look at Iago quickly when he said that he had visited the castle before. She smiled though, at least it wasn't entirely foreign to him, that was a good sign anyway. She wondered if they still remembered Iago...he had changed so much since he was young.
"What fun that must have been." Evie stifled a giggle and nearly gasped when she saw the castle come closer and closer to them. Soon she was looking directly upward to see the very top of it.

Iago laughed, shaking his head. "Not really. I remember their prince liked to tease me quite a bit." he said. The prince of this kingdom had it in a little for Iago...yes, they both respected each other's abilities, but it didn't stop him from teasing him any chance he got.

εviε Evie frowned and looked sideways at Iago with big, wondering eyes. What would it have been like for him being teased all the time from the Prince of the kingdom they were currently traveling in.
"That must have been awful!" Evie had to cover her mouth from smiling at his misfortune.

Iago laughed. "Wasn't all that bad." he said truthfully. He looked up at the doors of the castle, then at the two guards. "So...should I knock?" he asked. He had never visited another kingdom before without his father, and wasn't exactly sure what to do for an off the record, unexpected visit.

εviε Evie smiled and looked to the guards. Momentarily, she let go of Iago's hand and went to talk to the guards. She spoke quickly and they nodded to her with a smile, recognizing who she was and opened the doors for her. She smiled and skipped back happily to Iago and took his hand again.
"I think I've got it covered." Evie winked at him.
